I found out Fontaine is a Syberia reference
For those who don't know, Syberia (I and II) is a franchise adventure game which is full of beauty. There's also Syberia II and IV.
First, Syberia's action first happens in a village in France named Valadillene. And the first thing to notice are the Automatons that walk on the village roads. And in Fontaine there are these Clockwock Mekas.
The best example is Oscar, which is the second main character.
An automaton above a church's morgue in Syberia that picks up it's hat:
The architecture is crazily similar. And so is the main focus point of vintage tech and clock keys.
The flying aircraft in Fontaine and the one in Syberia:
In Syberia we travel by train which is one of the main game's iconic aspects. Of course the water train in Fontaine and the one in Syberia share similarities in structure.
Another main and important aspect in Syberia Is the music. So is in Fontaine. Music in Fontaine is by far one of the best soundtracks in the game, holding a lot of emotion and classical themed instruments. In Fontaine the musical column and style made me remember Syberia.

There must be more references but I didn't play much.
