Misconceptions and First Impressions

Teddy had finished grading some papers for the professor a little early and decided to join in on a pick up game of soccer. She loved the pick up games, but missed her days playing for Texas University. Coaching was fun but nothing beat playing. The sweating blonde stopped for a quick sip of water and practically spit it out when she realized the time. “Hey! I gotta run, Dr. Montgomery is out of class.” She called out to her friends while swiping her things and running to the science building.
Teddy was in her second year of medical school and it was quite the adjustment. She ended up with a scholarship which led her to choose this school over Texas. She worked as a TA for Dr. Montgomery, one of the toughest and most well respected professors in the medical school. During what little free time she had, she coached soccer and tutored to get a little more cash. Sure, her parents helped as much as they could, but it was a different tune up north in “prep country” as she called it.
Teddy ran into the building and headed straight to Dr. Montgomery’s hall just as he was walking in with the hottest red head she’d ever seen. It wasn’t uncommon for him to be in the company of other students. Teddy found it disturbing but never said anything. She set her boundaries with him whenever he made advances and that was that. There was no way she was losing this opportunity. Teddy straightened out her sweaty tank top as she approached her mentor. She could feel eyes on her bare, toned legs that were barely covered by her nike shorts. She didn’t typically dress this way in front of him for this exact reason, but given the circumstances she had no choice. “Um, Dr. Montgomery, I have your papers graded. I also had a quick question about the lab I’m teaching tomorrow if you have a moment.” She was quick and to the point. Just how she always was with him. The established man nodded and gestured to his office, “Of course, let’s meet in my office.” Teddy groaned on the inside, she wasn’t too keen on being alone with him. But as long as she set her boundaries he, for the most part, respected them until the next encounter where he would hit on her. “Sorry, this will only be a second.” She apologized to the young women she took the man from. This was important and she needed to make sure she was prepared.
She didn’t meet with him long; she always avoided that. She took care of what she needed, had her questions addressed, and headed straight into the lab to begin preparing for the next day. As she made her way inside, she was met with the same red haired woman from earlier. “Oh, hey. Sorry about that again. I needed to meet with him before he left for the day. Also, if you don’t mind I need to set up for the lab I’m teaching. Feel free to stay though, I won’t be long.” She told the younger woman, her flushed, pink cheeks finally starting to fade as she cooled down.
