This was the last time that Candace okayed a party in the common room of the dorms. Not that this was Pip’s fault. He’d helped clean up, as best as any of them could, but--the mess was ridiculous. Not only was there the regular party trash: cups and plates and napkins and random decorations but--

Windows had been smashed, there was glass everything. Not to mention a few broken chairs and stuff. Things that weren’t safe to be cleaning up last night.

Not to mention the goo everywhere. At least, by now, they knew it came off with just a little water and elbow grease but still, still. This was ridiculous! Candace couldn’t sleep because she was just thinking about the utter mess.

So, Candace had woken up early this morning, donned appropriate wear, and started cleaning up the big stuff. She didn’t know how long it had been when she heard someone else enter.

“Do you have shoes on? There’s glass--oh. Hey.”

"How’s the beginning of your semester going?” Candace asked as she plopped down at one of the picnic tables outside in the castle courtyard. It was a nice day. A little brisk, but hardly so for a midwesterner. She wanted to enjoy the weather before it was too cold to do something like this.

She was between classes, still jittery after them, considering she’d changed her major and felt like an idiot, an upperclassman amongst much smarter freshers.

“I feel like I’ve barely seen you!”

That was partially because Candace was obsessed with her new girlfriend, but she didn’t want to be that person who dropped all her friends for her girlfriend. (Candace was definitely that person.)

"Okay, so--I’m thinking maybe a hot pink for my nails, but I don’t know? Is that too much with the hair? I just think hot pink is super in right now and a great winter color.”

They were currently sitting on Candace’s bed in their relaxing clothes. It was the weekend before school was supposed to start back up again and she had invited Kim over for a girl’s night. It had been a while between the holidays and, honestly, her girlfriend.

It was Kim’s birthday!

The little alert had popped up on Candace’s screen a few days ago and she was so glad that she had put it on her calendar. She felt like she was super busy these days: between end of the year RA things, getting ready for NASA, trying to figure out how to change her major, and getting her grades back up so they didn’t tank her GPA--

It was a lot. She was fine, though! There was enough time for her to take her friend out for a night of drinks and dancing and, well, accidental karaoke fun.

“Hey!!” Candace said, waving from the bar when she spotted Kim. “Over here! I already ordered your favorite drink, hopefully it’ll be by in a second!” She said as she threw her arms around her friend’s neck.

“Happy birthday!”

"I am kind of disappointed the theme for this year is Enchanted Garden,” Candace said, plopping down on Kim’s bed with a huff. “I was aiming for Among the Stars. Feel like it would’ve fit my whole--character arc for this year, y’know?”

Candace wasn’t outright gonna say anything about her sudden acceptance into NASA, which, frankly, came out of left field to basically anyone who knew her. She just wanted everyone to accept it and move on. (Probably not healthy. Pacifica would certainly call her out for it but whatever. She hated rehashing it, made her feel dumb.)

“Do you know what you’re gonna wear? Or who you’re going with?”

Evy gets an idea in her head and Mitte encourages it...[takes place: throughout May]

Evangeline: Mandy! Oh my gosh! Cora just promposed to me and it was so sweet and wonderful! I wish everyone could feel this way.

Mitte: Why couldn’t they?

Evangeline: Ooooh. That’s a good point. Do you think I should prompose to some of my other friends so that they can feel special?

Mitte: I think that’s a great idea.
