everybody want the fantasy of corrupting a pure jedi to the dark side but then never provide them with the stability theyre craving - nature of the dark side is instability - so usually ur jedi-apprentice will still turn on u or otherwise blow up ur plans. this is why its more tactical to just kidnap an untrained force sensitive like yeah you need to put in the work in a complete training regimen for years and years but if you can frame the nausea of the dark side as exciting and proof of power u win. jedi are always fighting with guilt and its annoying esp when the guilt wins. you dont want your 5 year plan ruined by your jedi apprentice finally succumbing to guilt and cutting ur head off at dinner.

One of my single favorite things about Andor and Rogue One is that it gets rid of the myth that great evil (fascism) can be disposed of by one or a few individuals.
There are millions of tiny steps that have to be taken and no one knows what role theyâre supposed to play until theyâre playing it. Galen never knew Luke and how he would be the one to exploit the Death Starâs weakness. And Luke never knew Galen was the one to spend the end of his life engineering it. Lonni never knew R2-D2 would be the one to carry the plans he died to uncover. Cassian didnât know at the time that taking that KX unit on Ghorman would be what bought him and Jyn enough time to escape the Imperials and transmit the plans.
To a certain extent, the Rebellion also needed Imperials who were clumsy or hubristic. They needed Dedra to be so ambitious she unknowingly allowed Lonni to access classified Project Stardust information. They needed the lower-ranking Imperials at Lina Soh Hospital to be distracted enough to allow Kleya to get rid of the Empireâs most direct way of extracting information on the Rebellion (Luthen).
Andor very explicitly talks about this through Nemik and his manifesto.
âAnd know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire's authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.â
The thing that breaks the siege is Cassian and Jynâs final sacrifice on Scarif. Cassian, who did not care about the Cause on Aldhani, who brushed Nemik off as an idealist or a romantic, broke the siege.
the great thing about being obsessed with obi wan kenobi is that every character in star wars is Also obsessed with obi wan kenobi. he truly is that bitch.
by the way . ezra's theme has elements from both the force theme (binary sunset) and leia's theme . by the way . ezra was born on the same day as luke and leia . by the way .

Thinking about how Lukeâs decision to confront his father in this scene despite previously telling Obi-Wan âI canât kill my own fatherâ mirrors Obi-Wanâs own declaration to Yoda in Revenge of the Sith â âI will not kill Anakin.â
Both Luke and Obi-Wan told those more experienced in the Force than them that they could not do what needed to be done because they both saw the good in Anakin.
By the time of Return of the Jedi Obi-Wan wanted Luke to kill Vader because he believed it was the only way to defeat the Emperor (which clearly was not true), but Luke did exactly what Revenge of the Sith-era Obi-Wan wouldâve done and refused to kill Anakin when he knew he could be redeemed.
Thatâs why Luke is âa new hope.â Because he sees things as they could be, not only as they are. In this sense, his judgment in the throne room scene was much clearer than Obi-Wanâs was on Mustafar.
Maulâs flashbacks in M:SL and specifically him repeating âyou did this to me!â (regarding Sidious) seems like it should contradict his actions in Clone Wars and more relevantly Rebels where the focus of his revenge is Obi-Wan.
I think this discrepancy is due to the relatively easier pursuit that is hunting down and hurting Obi-Wan compared to Palpatine. Maul can and does wound Obi-Wan (beats him up, kills Satine, makes hurtful remarks about the deaths of Satine and Qui-Gon, kills innocents because of him) but he doesnât even scratch Palpatine because he canât. In fact, when we see Sidious and Maul fighting in TCW Maul ends up begging for mercy because Sidious is just too powerful.
Maul can exact short-lived revenge on Obi-Wan because he holds basically no power compared to Palpatine. Maulâs scheming against Palpatine is convoluted and requires years of preparation because of the level of Sidiousâ galactic control. This makes Maul much more inclined to pursue vengeance against Obi-Wan because at least that can grant him some relief from his anger and pain.
