So here's the big thought I'm having about Bee Sight, and UV oriented sight in general. When they see the UV spectrum would it look like a rave? Because when we see stuff under a blacklight everything else is dark, but if they're out in the middle of the day with sunlight wouldn't UV stuff just blend into the rest of everything they see? I don't know if this makes sense.
That’s what I’m still trying to figure out, because the biggest parts of the spectrum getting cut out are in the red and yellow (but, then some things fluoresce red?? Have no idea what that would look like to them). That’s fine, because bees can’t see those colors so it isn’t representative, but then green is getting cut out too (so plants glow red, because the UV is stimulating the chlorophyll without it), so I don’t know what would be green.
But yeah, it wouldn’t all be black and neon! The *bees* are probably all black (just as they have black on them to us already), and the honey, instead of glowing green, is...whatever UV-green looks like I guess? Not entirely sure what something that fluoresces green under UV light would look like to them.
But yeah the rave thing was a joke lol
