I have now looked more at Swoskaar and, I think the straps are technically thinking about holding on that random collar slash necklace, but this raises questions.
Like, for instance, why are there not two sets of straps? Why does he only need to hold it to one shoulder? This is bad armour. It is still just for aesthetics. This type of strap (from my professional opinion of 'I googled this for at least five minutes', am now qualified) would only be for one shoulder. Hm. Also, why the same shoulder the clothes are? he could attach his armour to his cloth one side and a strap the other.
Why does he wear the straps under his clothes? That must chafe. Surely you want cloth between straps and skin?! does he make them surper soft or something?
I guess in Glory bits of armour give benefits so the collar thing (I always think of it as a carapace) must give stats or whatever. So much naked skin. So Swoksaar needs badly held on carapace and knee pads but not other armour. Interesteing, interesting. I stand by this strap being to protect his nipple. Knees, nipples, and I don't even know what that carapace would protect.
he def has that nineties in UK style of one shoulder and a turtle-neck-neck.

I didn't actually know what Lynne was on about whenever she talks about nipple modesty straps so I just looked it up (on her blog, the real internet does not have anything good to say for that search I am certain). I am now looking at images of Swoksaar and firstly why does he look about 16? he looks like two decades younger than Yu Wenzhou. But actually importantly, what... what are those straps... for??? they're not;
-holding on the dismebodied arms. those have their own arm garter type straps (why are they not attached? you know what, never mind)
-holding on the weird carapace collar thing. I'm pretty sure. That looks like those nineties tops where you get one shoulder and a turtle neck. I just goggled to check I was remembering right and I was, those exist.
yeah see wei chen warlock has other different straps to hold on his fancy collar thing, and the nipple strap as well. I can't see a picture of any backs (Lynne, this is remiss of you, have you not some screenshots or gifs of Swoksaar's butt?? we need a comparison with captain flat butt and swoksaar STAT). Maybe the straps are for some sort of wand holster, but I am pretty sure no.
I can see no need for this strap except for nipples. My logical conclusion is warlocks are like Achilles, and need armour for their one small weak spot. The nipple of a warlock is their achilles heel.
