KEEN EYES ARE WEARY OF THE MAN for he moves as if the world were watching, with one careful foot before the other. arthur meanders a moment longer so that he may get a better glimpse and pretends to peruse the paintings surrounding them. the agent was looking ( always looking, always searching ) for a person of interest in a long-drawn case, the husks of several schemes ( thievery, money, art, fencing ) ; though, he was unsure if he had found the right target. in truth, it would likely not matter whether or not he was able to gain anything from the man in question, for it was more likely that the mob bury these cases before they were solved. if he acted quick enough, however, he could at least find some connection between theft and murder ( several rooms are painted red, the crimson vision of death splattered on the walls and bedframes ; in its gruesome violence there is, unfortunately, a PATTERN ), and that was enough for him to be along his way.

judging by precision, a trained eye traces along the movement of fabric, the tightening of lips, and the fidgeting of fingers. arthur would guess that the other was familiar with his post but, perhaps, hiding something behind it. weren't they all ?? he would muse his own little secrets before approaching. there was only so much information he could gather with soft glances and timid stares, both of which - it seemed - the man had already caught onto. either way, he had to just accept that he would need to walk through the minefield before disarming each trap.

“ hi. ” he starts warmly and flashes a small smile ( tired but present - he wants to get closer but feels most comfortable at an arm's length ). “ i am, uh, writing a bit on the newest additions to the museum. am i in the right exhibit ?? ”

It was an idyllic sort of morning, stolen right off the thick, glitter - encrusted paper of a Christmas greeting card, and plastered over the canvas of reality as they knew it. No one could tell the difference; yet most people wouldn't want to see the difference. The snow was yet perfectly untouched in some places and though it had taken some time, the sun had finally come around the bend and now, they could see the sparkle in the cold, white covering. Snow had a way of making the world still, so Charlotte did not wonder at why he might've had a slow start this morning, but still was not always the same as calm. Snow lulled, it quieted the senses. It was as capable of a trap as any other buried saw - toothed spring or hidden trip wire. . . unless someone knew where to look and was kind enough to shout a warning.

She had a key to this studio apartment, but she did not use the key to this studio apartment. Instead, she'd taken a running start, up the stairs, down the long corridor in her heavy, snow - caked boots, slammed a determined shoulder into the weak spot of the door, and forced it open, frame cracking, locks breaking unevenly. The door whipped back on its hinges and smashed into the adjacent wall, ruining the paint job there. Charlotte braced herself wide under the doorframe, the extension of one arm keeping the door from swinging back, full - force, and taking its revenge against her. " Oh, good, I'm first. We gotta run. Except they were not actors and this was not pretend. Real accusations and insults were being flung in both directions and Charlotte was sidling up next to her most recent partner - in - crime to share in the fun.

She had a flute of something fruity albeit non - alcoholic in her hand; it was fizzy and surprisingly good. It was her third glass and she seemed to be sipping at it carefully, deliberately, trying to decipher the various notes of it. She would try to recreate it later, but for now. . . The agent opened her mouth, about to reply, when a woman in the central scene suddenly howled and launched a highball glass at a pair of men. The glass missed them completely and instead, whipped up over the heads of the nearest guests and came straight at her and Aaron. The agent quickly dodged, those stars on her head swaying violently, and she began to giggle even before the glass had finished shattering against the wall between their heads.

A few people in their vicinity stared at them with wide eyes for a moment, but quickly returned their attention to the scene below. Charlotte, however, levelled her brightly amused gaze at Aaron, righting herself from her dodged position, only mildly cognizant of the broken glass now at their feet. Leaning her head in, loose glitter falling into her hair, she raised her pointer finger at a woman standing on the far side of the room, a different woman from the one who had thrown the glass. " She hasn't said a single word, but she's involved in this somehow. Look at the slope of her nose. It's just like his. Exactly like his. " She moved her hand to indicate one of the two men who the shattered highball at their feet had been meant for. Earlier, the man had been saying something about an inheritance and his apparent right to it. She lowered her voice into a playful, conspiratorial tone. " Long lost daughter? Secret, illegitimate daughter? What d'ya think? "

the blood in his mouth has been carelessly wiped away, spat, his face had been cleaned in a hurry, helmet hiding away the proofs of his humanity, the proof that he is not unbeatable, that he is made of flesh and blood. spray has been applied, covering the slashes a knife left behind. flight suit is put on then the armor and finally the helmet, all the weaknesses have been hidden away. he remains as he's always been.

an urgency to his step, razor crest closing as he hurries away, remaining calm of appearance, feeling the storm in his veins. the plan has been made, quick, but another set of eyes is needed, another set of hands. someone he knows was seen the day before, having shared a few missions here and there, din feels that he can ask. for help, @swnsn.

like a wounded animal, backed into a corner, the necessity to protect one's back. but his blood runs cold, it is a step by step method that will carry out his goal, din is not one to fail. ' i need your help for a mission. i could do it on my own but i would rather have someone watching my back. '
