So recently, I was going off to explore Switchland to try and find some rare stuff. When night fell, I dug up some dirt and made myself a tower so I could stay safe and still tell when day came.
Halfway through the night, I got bored and quit, but an error occurred with the global resources or something that prevented me from saving (seriously, what is it with me and the saves of non-PC Minecraft versions?). When I logged back in, I was back in the middle of a field during nighttime.
I ventured to a nearby shallow hole in the terrain, but while I was trying to dig up more dirt to recreate the tower a creeper exploded right behind me before I could see it. Thankfully I survived, even if my leather armor seemingly didn’t.
But then I noticed that water was pouring out through the crater it left behind, when I was sure there wasn’t a source of water nearby.
It turned out that somehow a small underground pond had formed, and the creeper had, by chance, uncovered it. And while it was dark, there were no monsters; I think it might’ve been too shallow for drowned. I was impressed, since I’d never encountered a pond that was naturally completely underground before. Water sources, yes, and definitely lava ponds. But little underground pools? Not unless I buried it.
So I hung out in a corner of this little lake and marveling about how convenient it was until I saw the sky change colors and went on my way.
Me: *Has no organizational system for items set up, haven't been keeping up on breeding my food animals, no farm set up, my base looking like a couple plain squares with a giant hole filled with grass in one corner, horses contained by walls of dirt, barely have enough iron to function*
Also Me: Time to build another base!
So after a few days of not playing, I logged back into my survival world on the Switch. I had to jump into bed, and then spend a minute or two fixing my inventory, and then climbed up onto the surface. I had to refamiliarize myself with the controls, which meant when the creeper walked up... Well, let’s just say I got a nice new skylight.
Thankfully, while the pit of cows, pigs, and chickens beside my underground home were moved into it, not a single one died. And it kind of works out since I was considering moving them underground too. I patched up the roof and built a new room to contain my animals, and now all I have to do is move the other cows and my sheep in there too, as well as move grass down there for the sheep and find out a way to keep the grass growing.
