When Kanda went "I'll toss aside all my anger and resentment because all that matters is being by your side" but then Alma went "I can't ever let go of my anger and resentment and hatred but I still want to be by your side" and then the story treats both of their approaches as valid and both of them do get to be by each other's side and Alma gets to die in Kanda's arms -

#oh the complexities of the character dynamics at play in this manga #it's so important to me that kanda - ill tempered and resentful as he is - is the one willing to let go of it all #while alma - who once used to be so cheerful and forgiving - is the one who cannot #it really shows that kanda got a support system - Marie and later Tiedoll - which he desperately needed at the lowest point of his life #while alma very much didn't #and so they just kept sinking futher and further without any safety net #alma barely got to /live/ in the first place - let alone process and deal with all these complicated feelings #and I'll never get over that #dgm #d gray man #d.gray-man #d.gray man #d.grayman hallow #kanda yuu #alma karma #yulma
