I want everyone to stop. Take a breath. Let it out slow.
We are in unprecedented times where it feels like those in power are sitting back and doing nothing. Where the vile and corrupt are getting away with too many unimaginable things. Where much of what we knew and know are getting twisted to suite a narrative that we know is false.
Stop. Take another breath. Breathe deep. Let it out nice and slow.
Do something small, learn something new, be creative and free. I know it sounds silly, but these are the times where we need to remind ourselves of what it is to be human. We need to paint, or write, or read, or garden, or dance, or sing, or cook, or whatever freeing thing you can think of. Make your world small.
We are so connected to everything in these times, so linked to world wide outrage, that as silly as it sounds, take the time to make your world small. It's better for you, it will help your mental load substantially. We do not need to be constantly informed. Put the phone away.
If the worst happens, then it happens. You knowing immediately or several hours or days later will make no difference to the fact that it happened. And even if the worst does happen, still take those small moments where you can. Lessen the load on yourself. We can't all, as individuals, save the world. Don't put that pressure on yourself.
Take a breath. Let it out slow. It won't fix everything, but it'll help take the weight off your shoulders. It'll help you be a bit clearer. It'll help you be a bit more free.
Take a breath. It's okay. We're in this together.
