Roxy was sitting outside of the entrance of the Pizzaplex, looking at the beautiful stars with Gregory. It was a clear sky tonight with no clouds, meaning the stars were visible and bright. It was incredible to see, especially to Roxy who is almost never out of the Pizzaplex.Â
âIâve always heard stories of the stars, but Iâve never actuallyâŚseen them before.â Roxy told Gregory.Â
âReally? Youâve never looked out the window to see the stars before?â Gregory asked.Â
âNoâŚThere arenât any windows big enough to show me the whole skyâŚnot like this.â Roxy replied.Â
Gregory smiled and rested the back of his head against Roxyâs chest. âItâs really pretty.â Gregory told her.Â
âI can see that now.â Roxanne reacted.Â
Gregory looked at the different stars, and noticed how some of the stars were brighter than the others. Though Gregory has seen the stars hundreds of times before, seeing Roxy react to the stars for the first time made this moment extra special. It made him appreciate the stars even more.Â
Gregory looked down at Roxyâs hand, and wrapped his own hand around her hand. He spent some time holding her hand and rubbing his thumb on the smooth metal. He spent some time studying the top of Roxyâs hand.Â
Her hand was so detailed. It had joints and nails, and different colors for the middle versus the fingers. The palm was a lighter gray, while her fingers were white and curved like one of those old Apple mouses. The nails were a lime green, that greatly contrasted compared to the white and gray hand. They looked like something a city girl would get. And to his surprise, they were not sharp. They were curved as well, so her nails donât cut a child in the process. It was so intricateâŚSo detailed.Â
âSee something you like, kid?â Roxy asked.Â
Gregory nodded. âI do.â Gregory replied. âI like your nails. Theyâre really pretty.â Gregory told her.Â
âThank you. I like them too. My toes have green nails as well.â Roxy added.Â
Gregory smiled. âI know that.âÂ
Roxy looked back up at the stars while Gregory observed the palm of the hand. Her palm didnât have any lines on it like he had. But she did have a slightly curved, vertical line surrounding the thumb joint and ending between the index and middle finger. Though Gregory and Roxyâs hands had one clear difference: Roxy didnât have a pinky finger. She had only 3 fingers and a thumb, while Gregory had 4 fingers and a thumb.Â
âIf you have only 3 fingers and a thumb, then how do you play the keyboard?â Gregory asked.Â
Roxy chuckled. âWell, you only need 3 fingers to make a chord, donât you?â Roxy asked.Â
âI donât know. Iâve never played piano.â Gregory admitted.Â
Roxy smiled and picked up her keyboard guitar from beside her. She placed it down on Gregoryâs lap like a regular keyboard, and placed her hand on 3 lower piano keys. âThis is a chord.â Roxy told him. âThree piano keys together, will usually make a pretty tune. The left hand is what plays the chords. And the chords are the background tunes for the melody, which is what the right hand plays.â Roxy explained.Â
Gregory nodded and placed his own hand on top of Roxyâs fingers, replicating her fingers. But because Gregory had 4 fingers, he had to improvise. Gregory placed his index finger on her index finger, his pinky finger on her third finger, and his middle and ring finger together on her middle finger. Lastly, he placed his thumb on Roxyâs thumb.Â
Roxy placed her right hand on the keyboard, and started playing one of the scales. She started off with playing A G and F, before moving her left hand to play the first chord: an E major. E, G# and B. With her right hand, she played F, G, A, A#, C, D, E, FâŚthen, she played it backwards: E, D, C, A#, A, G, F.Â
âWhoaâŚYou know that without looking at a book?!â Gregory reacted.Â
âFor humans, it takes years of practice to get good at remembering scales.â Roxy told him. âBut for an animatronic like me, it just takes a few minutes to process the coding.â Roxy admitted. âBut I do know this:â Roxy looked at Gregory with a smile. âThe person who wrote the coding, had to also know music theory in order to know what they were doing.âÂ
Gregory smiled brightly at her. âDo you know other scales?â Gregory asked. âOr other chords?âÂ
Roxy nodded. âYes to both. I know all 48 musical scales. I also know the 12 major chords, and the 12 minor chords.â Roxy told him. âThough I canât play all of the chords or scales here. A normal piano or keyboard has 88 chords, while my keyboard has only 36 keys.â Roxy added.Â
âYour keyboard only has 36 keys?â Gregory clarified.Â
âThatâs right.â Roxy replied. â36 keys in all. 36-49 keys is typical for a keytar.â Roxy added.Â
âKeytarâŚis that what this is called?â Gregory asked.Â
âYes. This is called a Keytar.â Roxy replied. âA KEY-board Gui-TAR.â Roxy sounded it out.Â
âInterestingâŚâ Gregory replied.Â
Gregory picked up the surprisingly light keytar, and placed it down onto the ground beside him. Gregory then grabbed Roxyâs left hand, and decided to study it next.Â
âThis hand is identical to my right hand. SoâŚI donât know why you want to see the other one.â Roxy told him. âI knowâŚJust curious.â Gregory replied.Â
Roxy felt as Gregory continued to examine her hand. The touch was starting to make her tired a little bit. She was starting to realize howâŚsurprisingly relaxing getting examined can be. SHe began to remember some of the parents' conversations about massages and how it was supposed to help their aching muscles and help them relax for a while. Is this what a massage is supposed to feel like? JustâŚsoft? And calming? And- âEEEEP!âÂ
Roxy couldâve easily jumped about 5 feet into the air! What was THAT?! Roxanne covered her snout as she recognized the squealing voice to be her own.Â
âWhoa! Iâm sorry! Did I hurt you? Did I tickle you? What happened?â Gregory asked, looking up at her with slight worry, but mostly curiosity.Â
Roxy looked at Gregory out of the corner of her eyes, and looked down. âUhhhâŚâ She removed her hand from her snout. âNoâŚyou didnât hurt me.â Roxy replied.Â
Gregory looked down. âOhâŚThen, did I tickle you?â Gregory asked next.Â
Roxy stuttered. âI-What?! Uh-no! No way! Why would thatâŚya knowâŚâ Roxy struggled to say the word.
â...Tickle?â Gregory repeated.Â
âYeah, that.â Roxy replied, pointing to him.Â
âIf it didnât tickle, then why are you stuttering?â Gregory asked. âAnd why canât you say the word âTickleâ?â Gregory asked next.Â
Roxy groaned and covered her face. âShuuuuushâŚâÂ
âWhy? Are you bluuuuushing?â Gregory asked with a smirk. âBlushing like a girl who blushes?â Gregory teased.Â
Roxy grabbed Gregoryâs sides and started tickling him. âI can say tickle quite well, thank you. Now shut up, and laugh like your life depends on it.â Roxy ordered.Â
Gregory quickly gripped the outside of her hands as he threw his head back in uncontrollable laughter. âHEHEHEHEHEY! WAHAHAIT, NOHOHOHO! IHIHIHIâM SOHOHORRYHYHYHY!â Gregory told her.Â
âAwww, poor Gregory. So ticklish! And nowhere to go.â She teased. âHow will he ever get free?â She asked next.Â
âIHIHI KNOHOW YOHOHOUâRE BLUHUHUSHING RIHIHIGHT NOHOHOW!â Gregory told him.Â
âAm not! Since when does a girl like me blush?!â Roxy asked.Â
âYOHOHOU HAHAVE TICKLIHIHISH PAHAHALMS!â Gregory argued.Â
âSo? It looks like youâre more ticklish than me. And all Iâm doing is squeezing!â Roxy reminded him.Â
âAHAHAHAM NOHOHOHOT!â Gregory yelled.Â
âAre too!â Roxy then let go of Gregory and grabbed his palm. âNow letâs see if youâre ticklish on your palm.â Roxy decided.Â
âIâm not ticklish there. Why would I be ticklish there?â Gregory asked.Â
Ready to know the answer, Roxy started skittering her nail on Gregoryâs palm. And Roxy dropped her jaw in surprise when he heard it:Â
âPfftâŚPffft-âÂ
Gregory was holding his laughter in! âWell would you look at that, Mr. Iâm-Not-Ticklish-There?â Roxy teased.Â
âPfffft-Hehehehehe! Ihihihi- Ihihi-â Gregory reacted.Â
âYou didnât know? Is that what youâre about to say?â Roxy teased.Â
âIhihi dihihidnât knohohohow! Ihihi swehehehear!â Gregory admitted.Â
Roxy chuckled. âAre you lying to me?â Roxy asked.Â
âIhihihi-â Gregory tried to say.Â
âAre you really lying to your mother?â Roxy teased with a smirk on her face.Â
âIhihiâm nohohot!â Gregory told her.Â
Roxy sighed and shook her head, before skittering her 3 fingers all over Gregoryâs palm.Â
âeeEEEEHEHEhehehehehe!â Gregory giggled. âOhohohokahahay, mahahaybe Ihi dihihid.â Gregory finally admitted.Â
Roxy nodded and removed her tickling hand. âI knew it. I knew it the whole time. Now do you know what happens to liars?â Roxy asked.Â
âIhihiâŚYeahâŚI do.â Gregory replied.Â
âWhat happens?â Roxy asked, smirking before she wiggled her fingers. âThis is your hint. What happens?â Roxy asked again.Â
âIhihi gehet tickled?â Gregory replied.Â
Roxy nodded and started tickling his belly and sides right away. âBingo! Now laugh it up, little liar!â Roxy declared.Â
Gregory doubled over and bursted out cackling right away. Roxy tickled and scratched at his belly first, before scribbling up to his ribs, and up to the armpits. âTry to keep your arms up!â Roxy encouraged as she scritched in his armpits.Â
Gregory squealed and shook his head back and forth as laughter completely took over. He was trying so hard to keep his arms up, but already he could feel them slipping down very slowly.Â
âOooooh! Youâre struggling!â Roxy teased. âWould you like some help?â She asked next.Â
Gregory giggled and nodded his head. âYehess plehehehehease.â he replied.Â
âAlright. But remember that you agreed to this.â Roxy reminded him as she grabbed Gregoryâs right arm, held it up into the air, and started tickling his right armpit.Â
Gregory threw his head back and cackled in big bursts all over again. âWAHAHAHAHAHA! WAHAHAHAIT- THAHAHATâS NOHOT WHAHAT IHI MEHEHEANT!â Gregory protested.Â
âI know.â Roxy replied. âAre you gonna call me a cheater next?â Roxy asked.Â
âCHEHEHEHEATEHERRR!â Gregory shouted.Â
Roxy guffawed. âI KNEW you would say that!â she reacted, proud of herself.Â
Gregory was tickled for only a few more minutes until Roxy deemed it time to stop. She removed her fingers from his armpit, lowered Gregoryâs hand down, and picked up Gregory like a mother would pick up her child. âWhat do you say we head inside and warm you up?â Roxy asked.Â
âYeahâŚmaybe.â Gregory replied, shivering as a gust of wind blew by him. âBut how can I be this cold if I was just tickled?â Gregory asked.Â
âSometimes the chill of the night is too cold for the body to regulate. So, the body gets overwhelmed with cold.â Roxy explained. âAnd even though tickling burns the same amount of calories as a swift half-mile walk, it may not have been enough to regulate your body heat.â Roxy added.Â
Gregory nodded and rested his chin on Roxyâs shoulder. âOkay.âÂ
Roxy took Gregory into the pizzaplex and felt as though the slight warmth of the pizzaplex covered Gregory like a blanketâŚThen Gregory looked down and realized that there was actually a fuzzy blanket wrapped around him. It was a dark blue blanket with white stars on it, suggesting it was the Daycare Attendantâs blanket. Specifically, Moonâs blanket.Â
âGregory looks sleepy.â Another familiar female voice said.Â
âYeahâŚYouâre right, Chica. itâs going to be bedtime for him soon.â Roxy told her.Â
âThat makes sense. Humans need to sleep. Especially growing kids.â Chica added. âWhat do you say we set him up on your purple couch?â Chica asked.Â
Roxy smiled. âThat sounds like a great idea.â She told her.Â
âOkay. Iâll grab that Freddy Fazbear pillow pet and bring it to your room.â Chica told her.Â
Roxy nodded and rubbed Gregoryâs back as she started to walk to her own room. She opened the door to her room, walked up to her purple couch and placed Gregory onto the couch. She wrapped the blanket around him a little bit better, and watched as Gregory hummed sleepily. Chica walked into the room with the unfolded pillow pet, and placed the pillow pet under Gregoryâs head. Gregory was growing more and more sleepy by the second. And he didnât mind. Not at all.Â
Roxy gave Gregory a little kiss on his forehead, and moved his bangs behind his ear. âGood night, Gregory.â She said softly.Â
Gregory smiled and opened his eyes. He lifted himself up and planted a kiss right on her black nose. âGood night, Mom.â Gregory replied.Â
Roxy smiled brightly and cooed upon hearing him call her âMomâ. It was so sweet she couldâve easily bursted! What did she do to deserve this kid?! She truly had no idea.Â
A few seconds later, Roxy finally got up onto her feet and walked to the door. She turned off the lights in her room, and gave him one last sincere look as she closed the door as quietly as she could. And to the left of the door, Roxy sat herself down and kept guard. With the boy now considering her a mother, she now felt the need to protect that role ăźand that boyăź with every ounce of her being.Â
And she was determined to do just that.Â
