Indulge in the delicate flavors of honey and chamomile with these delightful cupcakes. The soft and moist cupcakes are infused with chamomile tea and topped with a creamy chamomile frosting, creating a soothing and sweet treat perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup honey. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 2 large eggs. 1/2 cup whole milk. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp salt. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 2 chamomile tea bags for steeping. 1 cup unsalted butter for frosting. 2 cups powdered sugar for frosting. 2 tbsp chamomile tea for frosting. Honey drizzle for garnish optional.
Instructions: Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin. Warm the milk in a small saucepan until it steams but doesn't boil. Now take it off the heat and add the chamomile tea bags. Let them steep for five to seven minutes. Take the tea bags out of the milk and let it cool down. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. To the butter and sugar mix, add the eggs, vanilla extract, and honey. Mix everything together by beating it. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones, mixing in the chamomile-infused milk every so often. Mix the dry ingredients in at the beginning and end, until they are just combined. Fill up about two thirds of the way to the top of each cupcake liner with the batter. After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Get the chamomile frosting ready while the cupcakes cool. Get 2 tablespoons of chamomile tea hot in a small saucepan, but don't boil it. Take it off the heat and let it cool down. Beat 1 cup of unsalted butter in a bowl until it's smooth. Slowly add 2 cups of powdered sugar and the chamomile tea that has been cooled. Beat the frosting until it is fluffy and smooth. Cover the cupcakes with the chamomile frosting after they are completely cool. You can add a little honey to each cupcake if you want to make them even sweeter. Enjoy your honey cupcakes with chamomile frosting that you made yourself!
