I’ve got this idea for Jack Abbot so I’m telling you lol
I was thinking about a Jack Abbot fanfic where he falls for somebody who is the complete opposite of his late wife.
His late wife being a very delicate, feminine and gentle woman and reader however being kinda chaotic, a little obnoxious and just a little too much in that sense. l've pictured reader to even have a more "masculine" job, I was thinking her being part of the SWAT team and she is kinda "one of the bros" in that sense. And(of course) she has a crush for Jack.
But Jack is absolutely in denial and pissed at the possibility of liking reader. First because I imagine being difficult moving on from a spouse that passed away with all the guilt and stuff but especially when it would be for somebody like reader that has nothing to do with his late wife.
However Robby and Dana realize that he likes her before Jack does and don't see the big fuss Jack is having about it so they confront him and he is just so frustrated and pissed that he just start word vomiting about reader is way too obnoxious/too much/etc and he kinda exaggerate because he is just so mad and in denial but doesn't realize that reader is right behind him and heard everything.
Reader of course is heartbroken and get swallowed by her own insecurities because she knows she is too much, she tried being different in the past but she is just like that and Jack has always beina really calm and nice with her that she just thought he, at least, didn't have a problem with her. She never even hoped to have her feeling reciprocated but at least she thought they were friends.
And so Jack realize he fucked up and the groveling starts. I was even picturing the SWAT team going at him like 'not cool man, she may be tough but she is actyally really sweet and sensibile and that's our baby sister so you better fix it'
So yeah, a little angst BUT with an happy ending(I'm too weak please let them be happy) and a little age
annfealreel hit nothina crazy? like 35/50ish
Hii! This is an amazing idea omg, I'll probably make it a 2 part fic, and it'll probably be out between tuesday and friday since I'm really busy this week, sadly, I hate leaving the comfort of my home (the pain of being an introvert)

“Hey I was just about to call you, I’m wrapping up my shift but the team is heading to get drinks, figured you could meet us there? We’re going to that spot that has those mojitos you like.” Tim had a smile on his face as he answered your phone call. He was walking through the station towards the men’s locker room, ready to change out of the stench of a long patrol day.
“Before you freak out, I want you to know I’m okay.” Your voice was completely opposite of his. It wasn’t shaky for what happened, but you were solemn and still in your delivery. It was honestly silly to start your conversation this way, Tim wasn’t one to freak out, but he was one to think the worst first.
“What happened?” His voice immediately matched yours. Very typical for people that held the positions you did, to be calm under crisis.
“I got shot on shift today. I’m at the hospital.”
“You what?” Tim had stopped in his tracks immediately waiting for more information.
“My thigh, it’s not a big deal. It missed my artery but protocol is for me to be here for the next couple days.” You didn’t exactly want to get into details but you knew you had to give him some information.
“Why am I just finding this out?” Tim was now rushing to the exit doors.
“I told them not to call you, I wanted you to hear it from me, not some random SWAT member.”
“You do realize they’re not random, they come to all our barbecues, we’ve been to their weddings…” Tim was starting to argue with you. “Not to mention, I should’ve heard it on the radio.”
“Really wanna argue with me right now, Bradford?” You sighed despite the smile on your face.
“I really wanna know what happened.”
You could hear his truck engine start in the background and from that you knew he was going to be at the hospital in minutes.
“We got called in on some cartel tip, it was off-channel, stealth.” You explained knowing he wasn’t going to let it go. “I was applying aid to a hostage and it just happened.”
“I really hope you didn’t write your report that way.” Annoyance was dripping off his tone.
“Tim.” You said with the same amount of annoyance.
“No, you don’t get to be mad at me for being mad.” He was on the highway now, you could hear the change in background noise. “I’ll be there in 5 minutes.”
With that he hung up, and was in front of you within minutes. It made you wonder where he left his truck and who he talked to before getting to your room.
“Jesus.” He was at the edge of the bed looking down at you. “How you holdin’ up?”
“I’m fine, I just wanna go home.” You brushed him off.
“What the hell happened out there?” His voice didn’t sound angry like it did on the phone, he was genuinely upset.
“I told you, it happened fast, I was applying aid and then the next we were under fire.” You shook your head, not able to look him in the eye.
At that motion he walked over to the side of the bed, quickly engulfing you in a hug. “I know when you’re lying to me.” He mumbled into the top of your head before placing a kiss there.
You leaned into him, despite all his gear from his belt making it rather unpleasant to be in his embrace, it was the most comfortable you’ve felt since everything happened. You leaned into him more, gripping him closer to you when you let out a little sob.
He gently scooted you over, making sure he didn’t aggravate or even touch the leg with the bullet wound. It was just enough so that he could sit next to you in the bed and shield you from prying eyes outside.
“It’s alright.” He hummed as he rubbed your back up and down. A nurse had entered at one point and Tim just politely smiled and asked if the two of you could have a couple minutes.
The tears you let escape you were some that you hadn’t shed in years. It was buried down deep, being in your field, being at war, it did that to you, it bottled everything up and left you to deal with it at another time, and each time being more inconvenient than the last left for it to overflow now.
As you calmed down, you took a deep breath and wiped your face before looking at Tim.
“You went back.” Tim said not needing you to say anything in explanation about what happened.
“It was like I was right back in Afghanistan.” You nodded.
“Protocols are different here.” Tim tilted his head to look at you, wondering if he pushed you into this too soon.
“Yea, they got me on probation. Seeing the shrink tomorrow where they’ll figure out when I’m cleared for active duty.”
“You know, if you wanted to go back to work at the hospital, no one would hold it against you.” Tim offered up a solution that was more for him than it was for you.
“I was doing fine up until now, I think all the dust from the desert we were in, my hands wrist deep into this guys abdomen, brought me back to when you were bleeding out in front of me. Getting shot brought me back to the moment, it was like the shake back to reality I needed.” You shook your head as you thought through it all.
“Yea the shrinks gonna have a ball with you.” Tim teased you before getting serious. “You’ve always been self-aware. On top of your shit, you’ll be back on active duty in no time.”
“You sound worried.” It was obvious to notice the hesitancy in his voice.
“Just can’t help but feel like I pushed you to this.” Tim sighed deeply.
“I chose this.” You began to argue with him.
“But I planted the seed.” He argued back.
“You give yourself too much credit.” You laughed and squeezed his hand. “Remember when the Chief’s daughter came in, and I took her on as my patient, he saw how I handled everything, when they checked out, he mentioned how I might be good in TEMS. I brushed it off, but when you brought it up again, it just was harder and harder to brush it off. It just made sense.”
Tim looked down at you shocked that you never mentioned what his boss said to you.
“I’m just saying, don’t give yourself the credit for this.” You shrugged and teased him.
“I just want to make sure you’re good.” Tim got serious again after letting out a laugh from your tease.
“I’m fine, and after I see Dr. Shrink tomorrow I’ll be even better.”
“You’re not opposed to it, which is already how I know you’re fine.” Tim joked as he brought you closer to him as both of you relaxed in the bed.
“That’s that machismo stigma, I love talking to people about my problems. Which, speaking of, you didn’t take the trash out this morning.”
Tim let out a belly laugh, “I’ll be sure to take it out tonight.”
“No you won’t. You’re staying with me, Sarge.” And with that you cuddled into him as best as you could and closed your eyes so you could get as many minutes in the the most comfortable sleep you’d get while being in the hospital.

PART ONE
PART ONE
It was such a warm fall day. The leaves has started turning and falling. Quantico was covered in hues of oranges, reds, and yellows. Occasionally you could still see some slightly green grass. You were comfortable in your favorite jeans and a Henley t-shirt as you walked into your favorite local coffee shop. The scent of coffee beans and spices hitting your senses as soon as you pulled the door open. You inhaled deeply then sigh contently; this is your favorite time of year.
Before you can get up to order your usual coffee and pastry, a handsome man approaches you. He has short blonde hair and blue eyes.
“Hi there!” He smiles
“Hello.” You greet politely.
“I'm Aaron Hotchner. I work for the BAU of the FBI. What's your name?” he asked.
“Y/N Y/L/N. I...” before you could tell him where you worked, he cut you off.
“Would you mind having dinner with me tonight?” he asked almost nervous.
“Uh sure. Where?” You asked.
“The Log Cabin Restaurant, just outside of Quantico. I could pick you up at 6?” he beamed suddenly more confident.
“I'm off work at 5pm today, so I'll just meet you at the restaurant at 6:30pm?” you offered. Something seemed off but you tried to dismiss it as nerves. You never dated much; always too busy with work.
“Sounds great. I'll make the reservations now. He's my number.” He quickly scribbled his name and number on a napkin and handed it to you before heading out of the coffee shop.
Placing the napkin in your pocket you thought it was odd that he didn't give you his business card instead. Shrugging you got your coffee order and headed to work.
After arriving at work it seemed to be a slow day for SWAT. You were telling your partner and best friend Jim Street about this morning.
“Oh shit! GET IT BOSS!” He cackled.
“Omg Street, what are you? 12?” you scoffed mockingly
“13, actually,” He snapped back making you laugh.
Street had been your best friend and partner since before you became a sergeant and team leader. He always had your back, and you would always have his. At lunch you and your team were sitting in the kitchen eating and talking. You, however, were not paying attention and zoned out of the conversation.
“Yo! Boss? You good?” Luca (another member of your team) asked.
“Huh? OH! Yeah. Fine. Was just thinking...” You mused.
“About a certain FBI agent??” Street teased which lead to questions from the rest of your team and you retold the story.
“I don't guys. Something seems off about this guy.” You stated.
“Like what?” Deacon (another team member) asked.
“Not sure. Small stuff. Like why write his number on a napkin instead of giving me his card? Why introduce himself as FBI right off? Why was his confidence level clearly different when he said his name but not when he was setting up the date?” You asked while looking at the team while pulling out your phone.
“Are you going to call him?” Tan asked.
“Actually, I'm going to Google him.” You laughed as you typed “Aaron Hotchner BAU FBI” into the Google search bar. You were immediately flooded with images, press conference videos and details about Aaron Hotchner. The only problem is, he looks nothing like the guy that asked you on a date. The guy on your search results was way better looking and seemed confident.
“Uh guys, we need to run the guy that asked me out.” You said flatly.
“Why?” Asked Street
“Because according to Google, this is the real Aaron Hotchner of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit.” turning your phone around to show them, “And that is most definitely not the same person that asked me out.”
Everyone turned to look at each other. Deciding it was best to let your commander and your chief know what was happening you headed for their offices. After explaining the situation and showing them your phone, your commander, Hicks, said, “I've met Hotchner before. That's definitely the real one. So who is this other guy?”
“Not sure, sir.”
“What moron asks a SWAT officer out after impersonating a federal agent?” Chief Cortez wondered aloud.
“Oh! That's right! I don't think he knows I'm SWAT. He cut me off to ask me out before I could tell him!” you laughed with a mischievous smile on your face. “Chief, Commander, I have an idea. It's not exactly protocol but I think I have a way to get this guy to admit to impersonation. What if I actually go through with the date?”
“Absolutely not, Sergeant, that is out of the question.” Commander Hicks boomed.
“Call me curious but I actually want to know more about this plan.” Chief Cortez offered.
“I meet him for the date. Have my guys placed throughout the restaurant undercover as back up. I spend the date getting him to talk about himself as Hotchner, he seemed quite narcistic, so he'll probably be unable to stop himself. Then we tail him until we get the information to the real Aaron Hotchner. I know if it were me being impersonated, I'd like a part of taking this guy down.” Looking between your two bosses for approval.
“I like it. Get your team up to speed.” Chief Cortez ordered.
The commander didn't love the idea but saw it's merits. You went back to your team and came up with a plan. Tonight you were going on a date and you needed your wingmen.

Part One Part Two Part Three
By late morning you all had figured out the this man was Kyle Marks, brother of Harvey Marks, a serial killer that the BAU had previously caught. He was sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out 3 days before you met in the coffee shop. That was the trigger. Hotch was the expert witness. Kyle blamed Hotch directly and vowed to destroy him in anyway he could. Kyle didn't have a current known address.
Garcia gasped getting everyone's attention. “Sir, he posted a rant online about how he hates the BAU, specifically you, for the death of his brother. He said, and I quote, 'Aaron Hotchner will know what it feels like to lose what he loves.'” Everyone on the BAU team shared sad looks to Hotch.
“He must be talking about Jack. I already lost Hayley. Y/L/N said he knew specifics about Jack and his school.” Hotch stated clearly trying to control his anger of his son being targeted. He stood and started walking towards his office.
Following him you called after him, “Hotch! Wait.”
He turned towards you. Anger falling slightly.
“I'm sorry. I wasn't sure the things he had told me were true or made up. He said he was a widower. That the Boston Reaper killed his wife. Was... was that true?” you asked cautiously.
“Yes. Yes it is.” He said quietly. He told you everything that happened; including that Jack was there at the time.
“Oh my god, Aaron! I'm so sorry you both have been through that.” You said with honesty while pulling him into a hug.
Hotch tensed at first then melted into the embraced and hugged you back tightly; both of your fighting back the tears.
“Oh uh sorry about that.” You said sniffling and pulling away.
“Don't be. Thank you. I think I needed that.” He said with a sad smile.
“Hey,” you said softly placing your hand on his shoulder, “anytime. Seriously.”
Suddenly, Jack burst out of Hotch's office.
“Daddy!” He shouted happily.
“Hey buddy!” Aaron scooped up his son into his arms hugging him tightly.
“Daddy, you're squeezing me too tight.” Jack giggled.
“Sorry little buddy. I just love your hugs.” Aaron responded.
Jack looked over his dad's shoulder and eyed you.
“Daddy, who is that?” Jack asked.
“This is Sergeant Y/F/N Y/L/N with DC SWAT. Her team is helping me out.” Aaron introduced you two.
“Hi, Jack. You can call me Y/F/N.” You stuck your hand out. He didn't take it. Instead Jack eyed you carefully with his adorable face squinting.
“Spiderman or Superman?” He asked tilting his head.
“Spiderman. Hands down. Although I'm more of Captain America girl myself.” You responded. Jack then grabbed your hand shook it with a smile. Then turned to his dad.
“She's good. And she's really pretty! Right, daddy??” Jack asked innocently.
Hotch was clearly not expecting that and shifted slightly “yes, yes she is.” You hoped your cheeks weren't showing the blush you felt.
“Thank you. Both of you.” You said with a wink in Aaron's direction clearly acting more bold than you really felt.
“Jack, you and Aunt Jess get to hang out here today.” Aaron said kneeled down eye level with his son.
“No school?” asked Jack hopefully.
“No school. I need your help working this case. I need you to draw up plans to catch the bad guy.” Hotch said seriously. “Think you could do that for me, buddy?”
“Yes, daddy! Aunt Jess! Come on! I gotta work the case!” Jack all but yelled as he ran back to Hotch's office and pulled out paper and colored pencils.
“Pretty great kid you have there, Hotch.” you said.
“Thank you. He's everything to me.” Hotch said with a smile while watching his son through the office window.
“As well he should be. Let's go catch this asshole.” You turned and headed back to the conference room.
Hotch followed behind but not before being caught by Rossi while staring at your ass.
Rossi simply smiled and gave him a “go get her” look.
Everyone was working together on a plan for your second 'date.' You were about to ask Hotch if he checked his own financials to see if there were any miscellaneous charges he did not authorize when your phone rang.
“Y/L/N” You answered
“Boss, I think he made us. He shook us and now we don't have a tail on him.” Deacon said.
“Damnit! Alright head to us at the BAU.” You got off the phone and looked up to see everyone looking at you expectantly.
“That was Deacon, one of my men tailing Marks, he thinks Marks made them. He shook his tail.” You said with a deep sigh looking directly at Hotch.
“Garcia, can you track the number he's been using to contact Y/N?” Hotch asked.
“Sir, normally I'd be uber offended that you even had to ask but sadly, it's a disposable cell and currently turned off.” Garcia quipped.
“Where and when is the date for tonight?” Morgan asked.
“Bistro L'Hermitage in Woodbridge. At 6:30pm.” You answered and reminded you to check in with Hotch. “Wait. Hotch, have you checked you financials yet to make sure he's not using your identity and credit too?”
“Good point. Let me make some calls.” Hotch stepped away from everyone to check.
At this point is was just you, Garcia, Morgan, JJ, and Street in the room.
“Okay, badass hottie. Spill.” Garcia said while all four were looking at you.
“Huh? What are talking about?” you asked with your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Come on, mama. You and boss man keep casting glances at each other.” said Morgan.
“You two literally look like the heart eye emoji.” Street said in agreement.
“WHAT? No we do not.” Your voice got a little higher. “I'm just trying to help him out since ya know, his identity was stolen by some dumbass criminal hell bent on revenge???”
“Oh come on,” JJ spoke up, “you too would be great! You both understand crazy work schedules. You're both attractive. Jack seems to like you too. Don't think we didn't notice the boss man noticing that.”
“That's not all he noticed!” Morgan snorted.
“What are you on about now?” you scoffed.
“Rossi and I both saw him checking out your ass earlier.” He laughed.
“I'm so glad I didn't miss this.” Street laughed.
“Miss what?” Hotch asked while walking back into the conference room looking at his phone. He looked up to see all of you looking at him with big eyes.
“N...nothing. So all good?” You asked desperately trying to change topics.
“Everything seems fine. So at least he's not out ruining my credit.” He said with a sad smile.
The rest of the day was spent planning. The restaurant was contacted to put in extra reservations for the team to be there undercover as back up.
“Alright, let's go over this one more time.” Commander Hicks orders.
“Y/N is meeting Marks for the date at 6:30pm. Starting at 6:15pm, our undercovers will make their way in for their tables as back up. Luca, Street and Tan will be at a table near Y/N and Marks. Deacon and Captain Cortez will be at another table. My team will be in the surveillance van outside since he knows us from the arrest. When Y/N gives the code word, we move in fast and smooth.” Hotch stated.
“Y/N, you good?” Street asked noticing you were zoned out.
“Uh yeah sorry.” You lied.
“Y/N, I know that look. What is it?” Street questioned.
“I'm not sure. I just have this weird feeling about tonight. I can't really place it. I just feel... like something is wrong” you gave a tight lipped smile. “Whatever, let's just get this over with. I'm going to go change for my date.”
In the locker room you were slipping into a navy blue dress that fell just above the knee and was very form fitting. There wasn't a curve that it wasn't accentuating. You slipped on your heels and situated your gun and badge into your clutch bag and exited the room.
“Hey, Y/N, I just wanted to see if you were okay a....” Hotch stopped mid sentence when he finally looked up and saw you. He couldn't even try to hide his eyes as they trailed down your body. He blushed hard when he realized he was caught and cleared his throat.
“Uhhm I... you look stunning. Beautiful. I... I mean... Sorry....” He stumbled over his words. It was clear that he's not used to being nervous.
“You're sorry for saying I looked nice?” You giggled
He flashed a big smile that showed his dimples and he blushed. You had to mentally remind yourself not to just kiss him.
“No. Ugh. I'm sorry. I don't exactly know what the rules are when a gorgeous woman is about to go on a date with a dangerous UNSUB pretending to be me?” He let out a small laugh.
“Me either. This is all so strange but thank you for the compliment. I...” you were cut off by your Commander coming around the corner clearly not realizing he was interrupting.
“Alright let's head out.” Hicks ordered.
You chanced another look at Hotch as you turned to follow your commander only to see that Hotch was already looking at you. You smiled and he winked. Holy shit he should not be allowed to do that! Get your shit together Y/N! You mentally chastised yourself.
