SEBASTIAN  TAKES  THAT  AS  A  SIGN  .  glancing  over  at  bianca  ,  who  stands  with  her  arms  hugged  around  herself  ,  he  approaches  her  couch  and  takes  a  comfortable  seat  closest  to  where  she  lingers  .  ❝  all  right  ,  ❞  he  says  ,  matter-of-fact  and  smiling  ,  ❝  then  i’m  staying  right  here  .  all  night  ,  IF  I  HAVE  TO  .  ❞  he  watches  her  ,  gauges  her  reaction  ,  softens  at  the  natural  distress  in  her  face  .  there’s  so  much  he  could  say  ,  so  much  he  wants  to  ache  for  and  express  in  that  quiet  moment  between  sentences  ,  but  bianca  is  in  a  VISIBLY  VULNERABLE  STATE  ;  the  last  thing  sebastian  wants  to  do  is  strike  a  nerve  ,  or  unearth  topics  and  feelings  not  yet  ready  to  be  explored  .  ❝  you  won’t  be  alone  ,  ❞  he  goes  on  ,  tone  even  ,  face  pulling  with  fondness  as  he  watches  her  .  bianca  ,  he  realizes  ,  is  one  of  his  oldest  friends  . . .  and  the  one  he’s  yearned  for  all  this  time  .  the  fact  that  he  trusts  her  here  ?  implores  him  to  stay  over  ?  it  gives  him  hope  in  this  mutual  pining  .  IT  MAKES  HIM  CRAVE  CLOSURE  .  ❝  unless  . . .  ❞  he  leaves  a  long  pause  at  the  end  of  it  ,  but  soon  swallows  through  his  emotions  and  resumes  ,  ❝  unless  you  were  moreso  referring  to  another  kind  of  ALONE  .  in  that  case  . . .  ❞  though  his  cheeks  flush  ,  his  eyes  remain  locked  on  her  .  ❝  then  we  can  discuss  that  .  come  sit  with  me  .  i’ll  stay  ,  ❞  he  reminds  her  ,  reaching  out  for  her  hand  .  ❝  JUST  COME  AND  SIT  .  talk  .  be  with  me  ,  and  i’ll  be  with  you  .  we’ll  work  this  out  together  .  ❞
