Indulge in the authentic flavors of sushi with this recipe crafted by Pedro. Perfectly cooked sushi rice combined with fresh fish and vegetables, rolled into delectable bites of goodness.
Ingredients: 2 cups sushi rice. 2 1/2 cups water. 1/2 cup rice vinegar. 1/4 cup sugar. 1 teaspoon salt. Nori sheets. Assorted sushi-grade fish such as tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. Cucumber, thinly sliced. Avocado, sliced. Soy sauce. Wasabi. Pickled ginger.
Instructions: Run cold water over the sushi rice until the water runs clear. Put rice and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then turn down the heat, cover, and cook for 20 minutes. Put rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan and mix them together. On medium heat, stir the sugar until it melts. Allow to cool. Place the cooked rice on a baking sheet. Pour the vinegar mixture over the rice and mix it in gently. Wait until it's cool enough to touch. On a bamboo sushi mat, put a piece of nori. Put some wet rice on top of the nori, leaving an inch of space at the top. Put slices of fish, cucumber, and avocado in the middle of the rice. Start at the bottom and roll the sushi tightly around the bamboo mat. A sharp knife dipped in water can be used to cut the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces. Put it on the plate with pickled ginger, soy sauce, and wasabi.
