Sunday’s were made for exploring! ‘Surat on the Banks of the Tappee.’ in India, was pulled from "Oriental Memoirs: A Narrative of Seventeen Years Residence in India. By James Forbes, F.R.S., & c. Second Edition, Revised by his Daughter, The Countess De Montalembert. In Two Volumes." which was written by James Forbes. While Forbes was also the original artist, it was J. Shury who engraved the image on steel. The image depicts Forbes' time in India in 1772; however, it was printed years later upon his return to England. It was printed by J. B. Nichols and Son, 25 Parliament Street, London and published by Richard Bentley of 8 New Burlington Street, London in 1834. This print measures 9 1/8 x 11 3/4 inches. 🛶 🏰 🇮🇳 #Surat #suratfort #oldfort #fortress #suratcastle #tapi #tapiriver #india #indian #gujarat #indianprints #antiqueprints #printmaking #engraving #illustration #jamesforbes #orientalmemoirs #castle #exploration #castleontheriver #flags #architecture #indianarchitecture #design #homedecor #exploration #adventures #boating #inspiration #sundayfunday (at Old Red Fort Surat)
