in the last three days alone, I have seen just as many creators who I love and admire get bullied for their work by people online. and I am so fucking sick of it.
writers, artists, creators in fandom don't owe anyone shit. they do this for free and for fun, and they are in no way responsible for you and your enjoyment.
don't agree with how a character or plot is written? click that little x on your browser. don't like the things someone is posting or the persona they've created online? unfollow.
you are responsible for the content you choose to consume, and there is absolutely no one forcing you to read or watch any of it.
it actually could not be easier to be a decent human being and just not send hate messages to people you don't know. there's no need to critique someone's work — even if you believe it to be constructive because I promise that there's a good chance it's not — because you lose nothing by consuming it.
the things you say matter, and if you don't have anything nice and supportive to say, then please fuck off.
