Lots of good but I’m watching to see what happens with the Kermadec Ocean Sanctuary.

Dang, was he a cool grandfather?

That’s kinda complicated.

My first instinct, given that we hadn’t spoken since I came out, is “no”.

But Grandpa was also a HUGE part of my childhood (we spent a big chunk of every summer with him and Granny until I was thirteen -- I’m pretty sure this is when she developed Alzheimer, but since no one ever bothered to tell us kids she had it at all until after she died, that’s largely speculation).  We went camping, and one time he arranged things so that I actually got to get into a real US military tank (this was the same year he retired from the army).

He loved Wile E. Coyote, and he grew corn and egg plants in his back yard.

He married the woman who didn’t even tell my brother that he’d died less than a month after Granny died.

He hated being called Junior, which is why his sisters kept calling him that.

He lived in Seattle for a while.  I only found that out last year, because Ed was up here visiting and wanted to take some pictures of the places Grandpa remembered.
