my thoughts on the trunks real quick
in a more practical perspective when it comes to the costume, I like the trunks. It ties the costume together imo.
idk how to explain it, but the trunks help the crotch problem when translating comic book costumes to real life.
it's like when male superhero cosplayers that wear bodysuits need to wear something underneath around the pelvis and crotch area, so the area doesn't look indecent kinda way.

You know, people can have their own opinions but I truly don't understand why someone would prefer Superman without the trunks. I just don't get it. Not only from a character standpoint are they quintessential Superman, but just from a costume design standpoint, the red breaks up all of the blue, it just looks weird without it.
