Here's the thing, I genuinely enjoy watching Tracker. Colter is an idiot at times and the show's major flaw is not having him interact with his crew in person enough. But its a fun hour of TV every week.
I also have grown to like Russell as a character, yes I thought he was knock-off Dean Winchester in the first episode and I wasn't overly fond of him, but considering he doesn't have a lot of screen time I think they've grown him in nice little ways.
But.
I've said since the first article I read where the show runners spoke about the potential for it - I don't want a Russell spin-off. Partly because I think with Jensen attached it would get a lot more attention than Tracker itself which would sideline Justin on his own show.
But I also just don't think its necessary. Not everything needs a spin-off. A side character can just remain a side character and a lot of the time when they bring a fan-favourite side character into the main spotlight they ruin what was loved about that character anyway.
So yeah I don't want a whole show. If they wanted to do a telemovie in the style of the Burn Notice - Sam Axe movie I would be on board for that. But I don't see the need for anything more than that. Just keep utilising Jensen in the frankly impressive way that they have been.
(That being said if you told me that the only way I could have canon Russell/Reenie was in the spin-off then sign me the fuck up)
