The discussion based on the hologram provides only a limited view of the implicate order because it is based on a classical treatment of the transformations within a light wave. To obtain a deeper and more extensive understanding of the implicate order, it is necessary to start from quantum mechanical field theory. This is, in essence, the most basic and general form of the modern quantum theory that is available to date. Such a step will lead to an extension of the implicate order, called the superimplicate order. This is much subtler than the implicate order and goes deeper. In addition, it is capable of further extensions in ways that go beyond quantum theory altogether.
