Pick One: Breakups or Break-Focus Endgame? How about neither. The Fight Against Meta Shifting.
With the release of The Dahlia and the introduction of a certain new boss that is reliant on Break mechanics, the Memory of Chaos has emphasized Break-focused teams. Break damage happens when you break the enemy's toughness bar, allowing your Break characters to perform. If you do not have a Break DPS, do not worry; there are ways to clear stage 12 without it.
In phase one, I recommend avoiding using your Break DPS in the first half if you cannot make up for it in the second phase. This depends on the characters you own, but characters like Castorice or Archer work well in this phase. Archer is a more F2P-friendly option, since many players received a free copy at the time of his release. In this phase, Break teams, DoT teams, Quantum DPS, or Fire DPS work well.
For phase two, using a Break team here works exceptionally well. The newest boss, Harbinger of Death: Swarm Nightmare, increases a character’s Break effect while preventing your other teammates from hitting Crits. So, running a character like the Firefly team would be optimal since a Break team has nothing to do with Crit. If you don’t have a Break team, use a hypercarry team that prioritizes amplifying the damage of a sole character, for example, Phainon.
Completing stage 12 is absolutely possible without a Break team; you just need to use the characters you already have where they work best.
My teams:
Phase one: Castorice E0S0, Tribbie E1S5 DDD, Evernight E0S1, and Hyacine E1S1.
Phase two: Mydei E6S1, Cyrene E2S0, RMC E6, and RM E2S0.
E = Eidolons: Number of times you obtained the character, increasing damage, and utility.
S = Signature Light cone (Weapon): Higher S levels increase stats on the Light cone.
