I've been thinking about writing a Superbat Pride and Prejudice au
Would anyone be interested in reading that??
Out of nowhere I’m feeling an urge to write Dark!Clark.
Hm…..much to consider.
happy bruce fraught face and lays his hand on clark's shoulder as he's dying only to smile when he recovers wednesday btw
What are Clark & Bruce's love languages for each other?
I think Bruce's would be acts of service and gifts. He's a fixer, and he'll jump at any opportunity to help others, specially those he loves. Thing is, he's also a bit controlling (understatement of the century), so he'll most likely do these acts of service without asking first (same with the gifts), and I can imagine that, at least in the beginning, it'll bother Clark. But he'll eventually get that that's how Bruce shows he loves him, and he'll make a point to ask him to not intervene whenever he deems necessary.
I can also imagine a situation where Clark tells him he doesn't like expensive gifts, so Bruce's solution is to make his gifts more personalized and meaningful. Bruce would give Clark the most earth-shattering sweet gift, like something he made with his own hands and worked on for months, and he would just shrug and say "it's nothing, I just thought you would like it" while Clark is on the verge of tears.
Clark's love languages would be words of affirmation and quality time. It's canon that he doesn't shy away from telling it to Bruce how it is (more often than not, that means calling him on his bullshit), and I don't think it would be any different when it comes to telling him directly how much he cares for him and showing his affection with words. Of course, Bruce would short-circuit for a second, but he'll get used to it. I also like to think that Clark would try to make time to be with Bruce as often as he could. He would visit him at the cave and accompany him while he works, or drop by during patrol just to say hi.

What if Bruce and Clark kissed in the cave while Clark held Bruce's face tenderly in his hands and looked at him with eyes full of love. What if Bruce clung to his cape, pretending not to be in pain while Clark tended to his wounds and whispered things about the case to keep him distracted. What if Bruce grumbled and complained but didn't actually resist when Clark held him and carried him to his room and forced him to rest. What if Bruce asked him to stay and cuddled close while Clark kissed him on the forehead and carded his fingers through his hair until they both fell asleep. What then?
If Superman & Batman officially tie the knot, who do you think would be most likely to take his hubby's last name?
Is it going to be Clark Wayne?
Or...
Is it going to be Bruce Kent?
Hi, there!
I honestly think neither would be willing to do it, considering Bruce and Clark have a significant attachment to their respective last names.
Bruce's last name is a link to his parents and their legacy (and even Gotham, if we take into account how meaningful the Wayne name is to the city). Same thing with Clark, the last name Kent represents his connection to his parents, and you could say that the moment Martha and Jon decided to adopt him and gave him their name, it was also the moment Earth officially became his home planet and the Kent his family. In other words, their last names are, in a way, vital to who they are as characters.
So, knowing how meaningful their last names are, I don't think they would ask the other to change it. If anything, they would end up with something like Bruce Wayne-Kent or Clark Kent-Wayne.
SuperBat but they're 2 complete strangers stuck sitting next to each other on a 16-hour long flight ✈️
This is a really fun idea! I imagine it would go similarly to what we see in Superman/Batman annual 1, which is, of course, the precious annual that gave us the wonderful "there's only one bed" situation.
But back to why I think it would be similar. The thing is, if they're forced to share space for so long while they're still strangers, I'm sure they wouldn't stand each other in the beginning. In this annual they only share a room (and a bed he he) for a few hours because of a booking mistake, but that's enough to have Brucie Wayne and Clark Kent throwing pointed comments at each other and bantering like they're the worst of rivals (and they don't even know they're Batman and Superman yet!!)
So yeah, those first hours of the flight would be... interesting, to say the least. But of course, they would eventually come to (reluctantly) enjoy each other's company. I believe that in the course of those 16 hours they would end up showing more of who they truly are and, well, things would go from there. By the end of the flight Bruce would for sure find himself infatuated with the smart and stronger than it seems reporter from Kansas who refuses to take any of Brucie's shit, and Clark would realize that this rich boy from Gotham isn't as bad as he tries to appear.
After all, the annual ends like this, so I don't see a 16-hour long flight ending any different:
