To be honest, the worst part about working onĀ āLike Glassā is the fact I had to hide/not post animated parts when they were done at the given time because of spoilery reasons.
It was mighty depressing, having to lock away things for up to a year--especially because if they were posted the impact wouldāve lessened more in the final product, rendering the work towards finishing it completely null.
Itās different when working a job and keeping work under wraps because once the project is finally released to the public, there are plenty of opportunities to revel in the aftermath of release. (For high end products, you have award ceremonies, celebratory after parties, high and low positive buzz which encourages a healthy amount of engagement, camaraderie between collaborators on the projectĀ etc.) Plus, lol, you get paid in the meantime.
For the future of a part 2, at this point in my creative process, I have gotten used to this feeling of detachment towards my work, so hopefully itāll be less painful. Itās still weird though to be extremely passionate towards making something yet simultaneously incredibly detached to not let have petty things get to you.
Anyway, hereās a bad sketch I made in the first production month ofĀ āLike GlassāĀ which will appear in part 2, just not verbatim:
For the video; yeah 1000+ frames of animation sounds about right for 1:30 min of animation.

If I post the final or, heck, even the sketchimation of these new shots itāll ruin the impact of the shots in context, so have a screenshot.
Shoutout to @amazinmango for being a bro and indulging me in Sam Winchester Hair Madness⢠during stream. Credit to graphic goes to him.
I keep complaining about hair strands bUT CAN YOU BLAME ME???? SOMETIMES I JUST WISH TO CHOP.

Iāve said it once and Iāll say it again inbetweening Samās hair is stressful enough to give me vertigo but at least it wasnāt as bad as last time where I felt like I was thrown back into the early 2000ā²s with cinemaās fascination with 3D glasses....
First post of the month, woo~!
Anyway, I think Iāll queue production of the three films Iām working on at the same time based on cut. If you see a cut posted from one film, chances are the next WIP Iāll post will be from the other two films in a sort of cyclical formation.

#super-update
Itās been a hard decision, but Iāll have to discontinue work on "Like Glass,ā- a Supernatural animated fan film Iāve worked on since December 2015.
A lot has happened in three years that have continued to halt and staunch itās production. It was a project I was wholeheartedly invested in, but it came to a head where I was obsessive about it to the point of ludicrousness.Ā
As proud of it as I am and will continue to be, I have to be more serious if I wish to uphold and continue my path to my career--that being a really great animated film creator.
During the time of working onĀ āLike Glass,ā I could have been working on original projects that could build up my portfolio to get me through the door. I have since neglected them during the creation of this fan project. As it stands,Ā āLike Glassā isnāt a body of work that I could proudly show due to it being fan art, despite all the work Iāve put into it.
Especially now, as Iāve earned my certificate, I feel the need to be responsible take up the title and name by finishing projects that make sense.
My focus now will to keep fan projects to a limited minimum, and invest in fanworks that are not disproportionate in worth and workload. Original projects will be front and center on this blog, but that doesnāt mean I wonāt indulge in fanwork/fan projects/Supernatural from time to time.
I do not regret starting this project because I have learned a lot from itās failure. Working with @amazinmango has also been an indispensable experience and I am still so very incredibly grateful to all the support. I can only hope I could continue to find such support in the work I will proceed with.
To organize and truly polish the clean up of what is left fromĀ āLike Glass,ā I will make all the available production assets available as samples of what it took to make the film. The best I could hope for is that others may be able to learn from the failures of the project, much as I have. More is to come.
I appreciate all the comments, reactions, and support you have provided. I am going to continue to work unlike ever before to get even better and better as a film creator.Ā

The top piece of paper is the most important paper because it has the secret recipe and certain codes meant for color/diffusion and compositing assets forĀ āLike GlassāĀ
The two attempted storyboards do not reflect the actual script (clearly) and were drafted and eventually scrapped in favor of the actual written script but it hilarious to see what changed which is pretty much all of it l m a o. So whatever future scenes are seen here....you shouldnāt really trust them.
I didnāt bother with boarding this because I wanted to dive immediately into animation which really benefited me. (Seeing how busted up these papers are really shows just how long Iāve worked on this project.)
But go ahead.
Laugh all you want at general terribleness and laziness to an epic degree.Ā
