Hm. I've done a style of post before where I take one of these screenshots and give them a different perspective. Might as well do it again. Please note that my post *is not targeting transfems or trans women.* I have seen this kind of bullshit from *everyone*. Also, I am not intentionally ignoring a broader nonbinary perspective, but as someone who doesn't fully identify with those identities, I don't want to speak with confidence on other people's experiences.

(All uses of "you" are meant as a general "you" to transandrophobes)

I'm not going to say that I hate a group of people because that would (1) be disingenuous, and (2) would be extremely hurtful.

I wish that people wouldn't speak and act with confidence on transmasculinity when they clearly know nothing about us.

You don't know our culture (you claim we don't have any), you don't know our inside jokes.

You don't acknowledge the transmasculine caricatures that are just as harmful.

You talk about eggs as if they are a transfem-exclusive concept when they are a broader trans term in general. (I don't care about the "there's a chick inside" joke. Have you ever heard of snakes?) You don't want to consider that maybe some people were forced into femininity and girlhood. You don't understand what it's like to try so hard to express your gender just to be told that you're "such a feminist" or "such a tomboy" or that "women can wear pants now, that doesn't make you a man".

Going back to the caricatures thing, you describe us as either children or as ugly unlovable people. It's always either "these trans boys never plan on transitioning" or "testosterone makes you fat and ugly and a scary man that I can't trust". You probably know why this is offensive.

You talk down to us about queer history and culture like we haven't been faggots our whole lives. Many of us who were raised as girls have plenty of experiences with misogyny. That doesn't just go away when we transition "enough". (And testosterone doesn't suddenly make you transmisogynistic. Obviously.)

You tell us that we're transmisogyny "exempt" and vaguepost about us as "tmes" under the guise of technically including cis people. I don't know how many times I've said that transphobes do not care about your agab. They will not stop being transmisogynistic to you if you prove to them that you're "exempt" actually.

You know nothing about us because when transmasc people try to open up about their experiences (or are forced to open up), you don't take us seriously. You have done nothing to seek out our culture and perspectives and it is painfully obvious in posts you make about "birthday boys" and "transandrobros" and "theyfabs". You police our language and feelings to such an extent that many transmasc vent posts I've seen have to start with a disclaimer that they aren't targeting or even talking about transfem people.

You have made my brothers and siblings deprioritize their own wellbeing because you tell us we simply aren't as important. You have made many of my brothers and siblings go back into the closet. You have made us feel like traitors to our community. You claim we aren't part of "your" community. You claim that there isn't and will never be trans unity, because of us.

That person made some serious accusations with no evidence.

What really hurts, the people who chose to believe those lies… I was genuinely and openly celebrating your talents: I sang praise to your art and recced your fics, I commented on your fics, I bookmarked your fics, I supported your comics and reblogged them to the community so that others can enjoy them, God I wrote a fic for one of you to make you happy on a very special day of your life… and you all stab me in the back like that.

To the person who made up those lies: I'm sorry but you gotta have some sick mind (and no life really) to hurt a real person with horrible accusations like that! And all of this because of some dumb argument we had about a cartoon character on Twitter. You chose to target and hurt a real person over a fictional character. Grow up! I NEVER talked about you behind your back and brought your name in such disgrace NEVER. I noticed the passive aggressive posts that are clearly about me and I'd bottle up the hurt and stay silent. I confronted you instead of going behind your back and talk ill about you to others – which you've been doing about me for months. I tried to reach out to you on discord and invited you to join the Maxley community I created. You don't want us to start fresh, that's fine. But, please, stop spreading lies about me. Forget my existence and move on.

Specifically about a particular trend involving them.

And one of the villains I'm planning to cover is Magneto.

Sounds simple enough, right?

Well.....here's the thing.

I'm planning on bringing up Rogueneto, the ship between Rogue and Magneto.

It's not gonna be the main focus of the post, but it's just gonna be brought for a quick point of I'll be making

I wanted to make this post because of something that I know is gonna happen.

So back at the very beginning of the year, I posted the first part of a rewrite for X-Men '97....that I haven't made another part for in the last 9 months.

But anyway, it got a good amount of likes and positive comments.

But on the night of the day I posted, I got a long rant in my inbox from an anonymous user.

Basically they were saying that I have a hate-boner for Magneto because if you couldn't tell, the version of '97 I wrote isn't really in his favor this time.

But here's the thing....

I like Magneto! He's one of my favorite comic book villains!

And I know there's gonna be people pissed off about me calling him a villain, but he really does work as one, because of how thematically rich he is.

And although him become a hero is the best case scenario, I'm not a fan because of how it happened.

It just bugs me how he never really faces any consequences for his actions or really gets called out by anyone for his many negative traits.

And even when someone does that, they're made to look like the bad guy!

They also said that I don't seem to care about The X-Men.

But I do!

They're one of my favorite teams!

For God's sake, the biggest tag of my page is for The X-Men!

I literally said in the post that one of big flaws of the show was that most of the team got sidelined for the sake of Magneto!

But what really cemented this was them saying that I only care about Rogue/Gambit fanfiction.

I knew from that statement that this person was a Rogueneto fan

Then a few months later, I made a post about how Rogueneto fans greatly concerned me.

Largely because one of biggest criticisms of the ship (especially in '97) was its predatory undertones.

Not helped by the massive age gap and (retconned) history between Rogue and Magneto.

And I was concerned that most of these guys were unfortunately people who genuinely shouldn't be around minors.

And I mean......have you seen the goddamn Internet!?

Not to mention the reputation some particular fandoms have gotten due to their history involving the way they treat/talk about characters who are canonically underage.

(Insert obligatory Loud House fans are pedophiles joke)

The post was pretty controversial, with the main criticism being that I was too harsh to Rogueneto fans.

I admittedly, I kinda was.

Another reason why I was concerned by them was also because of that message I got, which was pretty hostile.

I've heard from other X-Men fans (particularly those who are fans of Romy) that Rogueneto fans have had a habit of being pretty hostile towards people who were critical of the ship.

But then again, that's nothing new for fandoms.

But shortly after I made the post (and a comment from @ariel-seagull-wings), I did made an apology about the way I came off.

However, shortly after that, I got a long message in my inbox.

The person who wrote it did appreciate my apology, but they said that it felt condescending.

Not to mention they went on about how Rogueneto fans having it hard because of the criticism they tend to get.

While the person who sent this was anonymous, I could tell this was the same person who sent the first message.

And while their message was less hostile than the first one, there was still hostility in there.

I didn't respond either time (because I just saw them as a waste of time and effort), but as I was working on my villains post, and with the knowledge that I would be talking about Rogueneto again (albeit briefly) I started thinking to myself.

If I made this post, this anonymous user is gonna message me again with another angry message.

I mean, there's no way the previous times I talked about Rogueneto in a major way and got those messages weren't a coincidence.

I just wanna make this clear to this person.

Please stop.

I understand wanting to defend something you like and care about, but does it really warrant being this hostile?

Plus, saying how you and other Rogueneto fans are unfairly criticized while being openly hostile and rude to me?

Do you not see the irony there?

There's a reason why Rogueneto fans get lot of shit.

Because of the actions of fans like you!

Also, if you're gonna confront me about this, at least have the courage to not be anonymous.

I know damn well they did this because if they did use their actual name, I would be able to call them out more directly.
