Analogue is back with a gorgeous $189 SNES ⊟
The Super Nt uses the same FPGA tech that the Nt mini used -- I won’t pretend to understand the technical details well, but what it means is extremely accurate reproduction of the games.
But unlike the Nt mini, Analogue traded aluminum for (beautiful) plastic, lost the analog video out in favor of just HDMI, and built a machine that will play every SNES game perfectly -- like, Analogue’s Christopher Taber told Retronauts “We tested 100% of the library; zero issues.” They played Bronkie on this for you.
Preorders are open now for release in February in four colors. 8bitdo is releasing its new wireless SNES controller in matching colors, for sale separately. So yeah, it doesn’t come with a controller, but it does have original SNES controller ports. The upside is, if you get the controller (or just buy a Retro Receiver) you'll be able to use all kinds of Bluetooth things, like PS4 pads or Joy-Cons.
