Meet Henrietta.  She's older than I am and I love her so SO much.  1972 Volkswagen SuperBeetle in Horrible Orange.  No, really, that’s the colour listed on my registration.  The funny thing about this style of beetle was the heater.  (and the way the windscreen washers worked, but that’s another story). It had a gas powered heater.  Which - yeah - bad idea to run gas to the dashboard and ignite it at the front of the car where you can breath in exhaust and have a risk of fire and or it not igniting properly.  Not really the best idea, but Henrietta isn't ideal for running in the amount of snow we get regardless.  So I disconnected her heater and committed to her being a three season car.
Except that when I went to move her to winter storage, I couldn't get her to start.  I spent a week trying to figure it out.  I checked her spark plugs, I used a battery tender to try to get her to go, the engine turned over just fine, I just couldn't get ignition.  These are super easy to work on cars and I was really frustrated that I couldn’t figure it out.
So I saved up and got her towed to a garage.
It turns out it was an electrical issue and parts take a little while to get in for a car that old. Â But, she is back, she is working! Â Today is the day I pick her up from the shop!
Today is also going up to +2C (25F?) and there is a freezing rain risk.
Not the ideal weather to be driving her to her winter palace (aka - T's heated garage/quonset). Â But! Â My baby is coming back to me!
