Awwwwww <3 @sunshinepatch Thatās an old tag!!! I forget about it from time to time until I see a post and realize it goes in there. Itās definitely the one uh.....I guess cheesy inspirational thing I do. The tag itself comes from a book that is probably super dated by now, but when I was a kid it was my first less stereotypical introduction to the middle east and classic stories from there. If you want to look it up itās calledĀ āShadow Spinnerā. I would recommend it but I havenāt read it since I was in elementary school. It was a book about the idea of storytelling as a talent and the power of using stories to influence peopleās decisions. Each chapter begins with the main character writing a ālesson for life and storytellingā that sheād observed or heard from another character. The final scene was one of the most epic fictional moments of my childhood, when the main character willingly gives herself up as a captive after safely escaping and enters the throne room and tells a story which starts the process of healing (that was another thing I liked, the ending isnātĀ āgoodā necessarily, they donātĀ āwinā or anything, merely they make progress and the main character learns enough about storytelling and life to make her own way in the world, and thatās where the story leaves off). But yeah, Iām the type who doesnāt really like all that platitudeĀ ālive life this wayā bs cause it feels so Forced and leaves a bad taste in my mouth kinda like men telling women to āsmileā and ābe happyā but I do like collecting tidbits of wisdom that instead of telling me to do something makes me Want To Do Something, so thatās what that tag is supposed to be.

ok first of all i absolutely hated all the reylo teasing and how the story tried to make the audience feel sympathetic towards space nazi kylo ren. oh so luke thought about killing kylo ren? boohoo it still doesnāt justify killing and torturing a bunch of other people, his own father included.
i especially hated how rey (!!!) of all people would feel any sympathy towards him when this guy literally tortured and injured her and her friends and killed her newfound father figure right in front of her in cold blood. heās not even related to her like he was to han and luke was to vader to justify her wanting to find good in him, heās just some random guy who made her suffer in several different occasions. she has no reason to feel bad for him, especially not after having heard just one sob story from him. i loved reyās rage in tfa and in the beginning of tlj, but i feel like her character was butchered just to uplift kylo ren.
that shirtless scene? how the fuck was that even necessary other than to just tease reylo? wtf
their hands touching? i almost puked in the movie theater.
like, i can accept rey and kylo ren being allies temporarily, but why the fuck was rian johnson hinting at romance in their scenes? cuz i donāt see these scenes playing out in the same way if rey was a man. i saw rey and cryloās force bond kinda like the link between harry and voldemort, but you donāt see any weird moments with shirtless voldemort and hand touching wtf.
on the bright side, this movie showed that kylo ren only cares about himself and killed and buried any possibility of reylo ever happening, so iāll sue lucasfilm if i have to see any ship teasing between him and rey again.
also i hated how finn and roseās mission accomplished literally nothing.Ā they deserve better than that. their kiss felt forced and an attempt of making a straight ship happen because finnpoe is so popular. still i loved finn and i loved rose and roseās sister death had more emotional impact than all of the deaths in rogue one combined imo.
i think these are my major complaints lol. i absolutely loved pretty much everything else. i liked that snoke died and kylo ren has been consolidated as the major villain now. his chance of redemption is gone and i want his ass to be completely obliterated in the next movie.
i loved the humor, the photography, the actions scenes andĀ bunch of other stuff, but for me the biggest star in this movie was luke. i LOVED him in this movie (despite disagreeing that heād even contemplate the idea of killing leia and hanās son but ok). lastly,Ā i loved seeing carrie fisher for one last time :ā( that homage to her in the end killed me.
