Good news! The invite request form is now on-site, right on the get invited page. No need to open an external link any longer! New users will be able to go to the get invited page and type the information I need to approve accounts directly into the invite queue form. Now that Sunset has been polished a bit more, and has implemented this feature, maybe now is a good time to officially ask others to spread the word about Sunset? Originally, Sunset was promoted by someone else (with good intentions!) before it was ready to go to the wider fannish communities. But in yet another year of femslash being underrepresented, ignored, and hated on, creating an archive specifically catered to femslash fanworks was something I have always considered important. While we love AO3, and the other archives, they are often filled predominantly with works of other categories and femslash is something that many people have to go out of their way to find, wading through filters and exclusions and muting. Nope, not anymore---
Hey, we're Sunset. We're a femslash archive. We run on the same code as AO3, and we love new users. We have a few things AO3 doesn't, most notably status updates, more prompt slots for prompt challenges, a random user button, and more.
We allow F/F, NB/F, and NB/NB works (please read our FAQ if you have any questions or concerns!). We allow genderbends/genderswaps/cisswaps of other characters (you may have heard otherwise; the change was implemented due to heavily appreciated feedback from the community!).
We allow all content within those categories besides the following (for legal trouble reasons): 1) explicitly sexual RPF of real individuals under the age of 18 or 2) explicitly sexual photorealistic artwork of characters under the age of 16.
The only other rules are that this is exclusively an 18+ archive; no minors may join; and you must agree with anti-harassment and anti-censorship ideals, and leave a statement in your application affirming so, in order to get an account. The invite queue page has a form with instructions on how to do this.
