tbh i don't see enough people pointing out how blade and sunday make a very good duo. or if they did, i did not see them unfortunately but i'd like to see it. like? the way sunday has to let go of his desire to make people NOT suffer, pair that up with blade. someone who's pain is what moves him FORWARD, to be honest i can't really imagine blade without a 'flaw' so to speak which he prides himself about. AND the latest quest in which they sort of cooperated?? that was beautiful. genuinely. i also imagine blade would struggle with sunday in a way. sunday never once, atleast of what ive saw, compared him to a monster. nor abomination. he called him a warrior. how would blade react to being revered? someone changing his self made identity from bad to GOOD. that'd delete his hard work of controlling how he is perceived by others, no? i really really believe everything can be seen in different interpretations, and to me that sunren interaction was worth so much more. we don't see blade interacting with different characters so often, so i'm really internalizing THIS one thing. also they both would have to let go of their worst belief, for sunday that is to fix someone [although i am not THAT knowledgeable about sunday, my dear friend is and ive listened her yap a bunch, this is what i gathered.] for blade that is to be bad. to be hurt. and to be "judged". now by this i mean, since everyone clearly established he makes the things he's insecure about the first thing you know about him, and the first thing he usually flaunted, he IS turning the bad thing onto a positive by tying that to his identity. it's just who he is. but what if he IS bad? actually lets himself feel bad? and vulnerable? because no i do not believe he does not care. he simply repressed it under SO much stuff it's barely there but i do believe he cares a lot. he's VERY chalant about it. ^_^ so. that paired up with sunday's harmony tuning, which also should be able to sort of help him with his marastruck condition. letting himself feel like a hurt person for once. a PERSON. [this is also why i adore him so much, he brings me much comfort. and to be honest i may be projecting onto him too right now, but i do see it fitting to his character.] how could he let himself be pitied and small in comparison to others? that's having no control over how people perceive and see you. if you make it so that the thing you fear the most is your identity what are you even fearing anymore? that's you, you control it. he fears a loss of control. [also heavily implied by the fact that his own body could be used to revive shuhu. his identity is the only thing he can manage to control. one of his character themes is about not having control over yourself i believe.] i think sunday has the means to sort of control him, and that'd require a lot of trust coming from blade. [also i know spirit whisper can do that too, however the stellaron hunters ARE bound by the script, and are also colleagues. whilst i see them as found family it's vastly different when someone outside that circle has that power over you.] SO sunren would make a great pair as they actively are cancelling eachother's worst trait out. [or atleast that is if they actually tried to bond and the dynamic to work.] and honestly no matter if its a romantic pairing or not the dynamic is almost poetic to me. letting someone be broken and letting yourself be everything. they both fight over control. and both have to let go. one only wanted to see the good and the other only addresses the bad. [both wanted to reach that paradise/j]
