Yesterday we took the car up to the north of the island to a beach called Datai. The roads were mental because it was the other side of the mountain. When we got there we realised it's actually a very private beach for hotel guests only. But the lady standing at the door very kindly pointed us in the direction of another beach called pebble beach. We drove back the way we came and spotted it. It was about 200 feet long, with about 8 people there, crystal clear water and monkeys just chilling close by. It was so different to Pantai Cenang, because of the watersports it offers there it had turned the water a lot dirtier. There was no shops, only a few locals, literally just on the edge of the jungle and so far from any other town. Definitely one of my favourite beaches. After that we headed on back down to Cenang to sit at the Ruang juice bar (which is in the side of the road) and chat with Lawrence who's been working there for 9 days, is from Quebec, and it's a dude. From there we went to the reggae bar, had some very strong rum and cokes, met Pascal and Elisa and Laura, from Finland. When the bar closed we went an sat on the beach for a couple of hours just chilling and drinking, it wasn't a heavy one for me because I need to get my body back on track!! But everyone decided to go to Sunba so we paid RM15 for a taxi instead of walking for 30 minutes there!! Had a free drink (ladies night) then partied until 6am again. Surprisingly I didn't have a hangover because I was drinking big bottles of water after the 4 shot rum and cokes I was having, but Gary felt like poop. 💩
