you mentioned portal and that activated the Storytime part of my brain (hope you don't mind)! specifically about the origin of "the cake is a lie". originally, Portal started out as a different game made by students at DigiPen Institute of Technology, a college in my state. now, DigiPen partners with a lot of big game companies, and those companies frequently recruit students before they even graduate. there's often showcases and whatnot for them to scout, basically. that's how the students ended up working with Valve (or whoever, sorry, my brain is fuzzy on the oddest details) to make what is now Portal. the original student project was more fantasy than sci fi, but contained the core essence of ~Fun With Portals~ gameplay
anyway, the cake part comes in while they're still students. they needed people to test the game, but didn't have enough friends to do so. they ended up putting up posters advertising that testers would receive free cake. except, you guessed it, there wasn't actually any cake. but the game was enough fun that people stayed to play and test it anyway. as a nod to that, they put a bunch of small references in the game, and were surprised that players turned it into a meme
Source: I took a couple tours of DigiPen back in the day, and they love telling this story. I think most of the info can be found online anyway, but I don't know where
ANON THIS IS SO COOL thank you for sharing with me!! you know the game is good if they lied about the cake but you stay to playtest anyway
If you love orange kitties take a look at this one!

Hello, I absolutely adore your Hannibal!Barbie! Sorry if this comes out of the blue, but what do you think of genderfluid/genderqueer!Barbie. Do you have headcanons
hello and thank you so much!! i do love the idea of genderfluid/genderqueer barbie, i think it goes well with the whole theme of "you can be anything". i personally dont have a headcanon i stick with, but it makes me happy whenever people acknowledge her as something more, because to me she's exactly that - the embodiment of the anything and the anyone
Would you ever make adoptables with hijabs? Cause that would be amazing!
sure! <3 ill include them in upcoming batch, if u guys ever wanna see a certain design my custom adopts are open too!
i heard you were drawing ponies! this is my silly guy angeleyes,,
