During this time of the year I’m often asked for tips on preventing the “summer slide”. As @hellojenjones states in this wonderful quote, if children already love reading, the chances of them stopping over the summer months are slim. If they are provided with books and other tools, a designated space for reading/learning, and have 20-30 minutes of scheduled reading built into their daily days, that should help.
