Side note, its been rather interesting experimenting with a different camera brand and system all together. The challenge of being able to see if I rely on the camera or my skills when taking a shot are being put to a test. Rather enjoyful to explore that.

we stood in the driveway

under the lamp post

leaning against

your old car

we smoked cigarettes

one after another

from the pack

I had bought for the trip

I knew you then

in the flashes of summer lightning

knew you

with the absorption

of a summer sky

that you can fall up

and into

I knew then

even before the last

time you touched me

cradling my face between

your palms

I knew to remember

your silhouette against

the dusk light

when the light

is just right

endings and beginnings

convolute  and

fall into and upon

one another

like fated lovers

but Fate is never

kind

She is exacting

and casts a stone cold

gaze

upon the myriad

possibilities

and casually chooses

one or two according

to her own council

leaving the rest to

chance or conscious

choice

and I knew then

that you were always

the stronger one of us

and I waited

knowing

that truth like fate

cares nothing for sentiment

or pleading or tears

and so I knew even

as I fell

as we fell

separately together

into one another

to remember
