I thoroughly enjoyed Night Shift. Listened to all of Season 1 in like 3 days? Binged it SO hard. I'm looking forward to Season 2!

It's not the highest budget / production audio drama I've listened to? WHICH IS FINE. I STILL ENJOYED IT. TO BE CLEAR. I HAD FUN.

Not what I expected.

Uhh, that was a little disappointing. And confusing. And unnecessary.

In hindsight, it’s not so much substance as it is... Presentation, I guess.

tbh it took me a fair while to get through it.

The chapters are very short.

But the beginning was just so. heavy.

Is this Philosophy 101 for super beginners because like stop. My brain cannot deal.

And just when things became too perfect, there was an ending.

I don’t need a happy ending.

I just need conclusions. Cleanliness. A finish.

It is perfection.

Yes, everything is yes.

Also, camellias. I’m so glad that this book isn’t one that I’m ashamed to see the word camellia in. Because sometimes, there are those things in which I wish they just would not certain things dear to me because they are not presented for what they are.

Worth reading? Yes.

Would I read it again? Maybe. It’s actually pretty straightforward, once you get through it.

i went into this not knowing exactly what it’s about, and i’m glad.

i am so glad.

yet at the same time, i am not.

Yes. Everything yes.

It’s a grim tale, obviously, because it follows a man who kills.

But it’s good.

THAT romance seemed a little rushed, a little unnecessary, a little rough. I wanted either way more, or for it to remain a bud, something with a future of unfolding, with the promise of something spectacular. It was awkwardly placed, but I appreciate that it wasn’t much worse. It could have been so terrible.

Worth reading? Yeah. But I also enjoy watching shows like Criminal Minds and Hannibal, although Hannibal I had to give up on because I couldn’t handle the excess of visual blood very well.

Would I read it again? I think I might. Someday. Read it on paper. It was a little confusing on audiobook at first, because I didn’t realize how important the dates were to the overall unfolding of the story. Usually, when authors include dates, it’s okay to just follow along without really noticing the changes in dates. With the way Beukes has crafted this tale, the dates really do have an importance of their own. Not that you’ll be completely lost if you don’t keep track of the dates, but it’s just that. They feel more. Relevant.
