These enchanting Mermaid Cookies in shades of pink and aqua are a treat both for the eyes and the taste buds. With a marbled design reminiscent of ocean waves and a hint of edible glitter, they're perfect for adding a touch of magic to any occasion.
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups all-purpose flour. teaspoon salt. Pink and aqua food coloring. Edible glitter or pearl dust optional.
Instructions: Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well. Mix in the all-purpose flour and salt slowly until a soft dough forms. Split the dough in half, making two equal parts. Color one half with pink food coloring and the other with aqua food coloring. Work each piece together until the color is spread out evenly. Each color of dough should be wrapped in plastic wrap and put in the fridge for at least an hour. Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. To make the dough look like marble, roll small amounts of pink and aqua dough into thin ropes and twist them together. Twist the dough into heart shapes, then put them on the baking sheet that has been prepared. After the oven is hot, bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way. If you want to add a little sparkle, you can brush the cookies that have cooled with edible glitter or pearl dust. Have fun with your tasty Pink and Aqua Mermaid Cookies!
