I have started a fundraiser for the World Parrot Trust
“Sugar was my beautiful cockatiel. She passed away from an unexpected illness in late May. She gave me so much joy and love, so I wanted to make a donation in her honor. She was admired by a number of people on tumblr, twitter, and instagram so I've decided to give others the chance to join me in making a donation by making this fundraiser. 100% of the money raised will be donated to World Parrot Trust USA in Sugar's honor.”
Thank you all for being so compassionate and for loving Sugar with me. I’ve said this already, but I am so grateful to be part of such a wonderful and supportive community.
Photo of the Day – The Gurney’s Sugarbird (Promerops gurneyi) occurs in habitats of tropical and subtropical dry forests, dry savanna and Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation. Sugarbirds are one of two bird families endemic to Southern Africa, the others being Rockjumpers, and this particular species is found in South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
