:( when i was 22-23 the same thing happened. then ~4-5 yrs later there was a slew of babies and divorce.
What's funny is I do have a small domestic bone in my body, it's probably one of the bones in my pinky finger.
What's not so funny and where it becomes difficult is the culture of "marriages and babies is the most important thing you an do with your life." My friends don't believe that and all of them are young professional women who care very much about their chosen fields and want a life long career in said fields. The problem is suddenly babies and marriage are all they want talk about. They don't have time to read a book anymore and they got rid of their television because they don't want to set a bad example for the non-existent baby. And they only eat organic chicken now. And are going to start taking up dance lessons as a couple even though they both hate dance.
In all the talk about that stuff there is no room for talk about other things. Babies and marriage dominate because....? Well because marriage and babies are thought to be more...more exciting, more important, more likely to make you happy. I've got some time coming up where I'm spending time with each girl and I think it'll help remind me of what we still have in common despite the ways we've changed over the years.
