Honestly I can see him not even seeing “luck” as a power when you first tell him

But on a mission you say you should both make a detour, and the second he decides to humor you, the hall you would’ve been in blows up

He takes it seriously after that

He’s grateful for it because luck is always on your side. Failing a mission is kinda slim to none now

It irritates him because your power means that you’re always right

Ya’ll know that man hates being proven wrong

He’s stubborn, so he stupidly argues with you about stuff still

A quick example is one day he somehow loses his mask

He’s looking everywhere and he cannot find that shit

“Maybe check your bathroom” you say while picking at your nails absentmindedly

”Why would it be there?” He huffs out. “I never put it there”

You just shrug. It’s not your mask so you really don’t care if he finds it or not

He goes out of his way NOT to check the bathroom because when has he ever put his mask there? You had to be wrong this one time, and he was gonna prove it

After hours, he finally checks the bathroom

And would you look at that. It’s on the counter.

”Still got it” he hears you taunt from behind him

Yeah yeah. Whatever.

You’d think he’d just go with whatever you say, but nooooo. He wants to prove he’s the captain of the ship

Well if he’s the captain of the ship, you’re the ocean

“Where are the hostages being held?” “I don’t know” “You don’ know?” “I’m not a psychic! Things just kinda go right for me!”

You’re giving him a headache

He’d prefer if you could just see the future

He refuses to ask for help when looking for something. You’ll try to take a guess and he’s like “Don’t! Stop!”

He lands hits but the fight will always end in your favor

I have this scene in my head where it’s when Bi-Han sides with Shang Tsung and you’re begging him not to

“Your instincts are wrong this time” he says

You shake your head. “This has nothing to do with instincts or luck Bi-Han! Don’t do this because I don’t want you to! I want you by my side!”

“It is you that needs to stand by my side”

You keep your feet planted firmly by Kuai Liang. “Well I don’t sense any luck with you”

This supposed to be funny and fluffy. My bad-

If there’s too many enemies and he needs to have his attention somewhere else, he unleashes you like an attack dog

“Take care of them while I (something else that requires his attention. I don’t know)” “Sir yes sir”

You knock someone down and look at Bi-Han with a smirk

“Don’t-” “Guess he wasn’t feeling lucky!”

He’s gonna kill you one day

But until then, he tolerates you

He just grumbles in response

He knows he loves you too

It’s very easy to paint Bi-Han as someone who would be a terrible and strict dad

We not for that over here tho

Is Bi-Han strict? Absolutely. But he’s strict because he wants his kids to be focused and become the best warrior they can

Bi-Han cuts his kids fruit and leaves it outside their rooms if they’re sleeping

He genuinely believes they can succeed at whatever they want to if they try hard enough

Do not ever let his kid get bullied. I swear to y’all this man does not care that hitting kids is frowned upon

Or the parent gotta run him the fair one

Either way, that shit is not sliding

Bi-Han has nicknames for his kids

I don’t see them being smth like “oh my little boo boo cake”, but smth like 小天使 (Little Angel) or 小战士 (Little Warrior)

I got those from google so I’m HOPING they’re not wrong-

Since he’s the oldest brother, he has experience caring for younger people when they’re ill or injured

He’s still Bi-Han though, so he’s talking shit the whole time

He keeps mumbling things as he’s making soup. His irritation and need to parent is clashing

If his kid is affected by the cold more than he is, he takes that into account and gets them actual winter gear

On the real though, Bi-Han is not a perfect father but he for sure tries his best. He has a lot of hiccups because he’s not used to being in tuned with his feelings and the feelings of others, but he’s trying. I don’t see his kids ever feeling genuinely hated by him or like he doesn’t like them

May the Elder Gods give him strength-

Bi-Han has such low patience and a kid that acts bad would drive him insane 

Especially if this child is the first born and therefore has to be the next Grandmaster? Oh boy 

Imma be real with y'all, I can see him whooping his kids-

Y'all know how people debate on whether or not whooping your kids is okay? I think he's on the pro whooping side. Not ABUSE tho. There's a line there

If his kid wanna act up, then he's making life terrible 

He's pulling all the stops. They ass ain't going NOWHERE.

He's already a strict dad, so acting out will really get him heated 

Kids are assholes but I think there's a difference between regular kid shit and making life way more difficult than it has to be 

The type of parent to make his child sit next to him for the whole day. He's not playing with them 

He's escorting them to school and escorting them back home 

They legit have no freedom until they're over this phase 

And cursing at him? Absolutely not. 

This man does not argue with children at all. The going back and forth shit ain't happening. If you wanna act like a toddler that needs to be watched, then he'll treat you as such 

“I don't wanna be out here anymore” the teenager next to him sulked with their arms crossed and their mouth in a deep frown. Wrinkles spread from their frown and their pulled down eyebrows. How they hadn't gotten a headache yet, he was unsure of. 

Bi-Han ignored them, so they repeated themselves louder. “I don't wanna be out here anymore! Did you hear me?!”. 

Bi-Han didn't spare a glance at them. He turned a page in his book and said in a dangerously calm voice, “control your emotions before I let mine loose. What you want is irrelevant now. If you don't want to sit, then stand”. The teenager huffed and slouched more in the seat. 

“Is there something you'd like to say?” he said in response to them mumbling something under their breath. They knew better than to repeat themselves, and stayed silent. 

Not dealing with that shit at all 

Do I think he has more patience than Bi-Han? Yes 

Does that mean he'll deal with disrespect? Absolutely not 

It's not even the rebellious acts that bother him. He knows teens will be teens. It's the disrespecting him that pisses him off 

He's also not going back and forth with nobody 

Arguing isn't happening. At some point he's just finna start handing out groundings 

Since they have so much energy when they're doing all that extra shit, he has them train more 

Keeps them incredibly busy so they're too tired to do anything stupid 

Not entirely foolproof but it works 99% of the time

Has no problem taking away their door if they're always up to bullshit 

Lowkey I can see any of them pulling up to the school if his kid is acting up there too 

Will forbid them from seeing any of their bad acting friends 

He cannot wait until this phase is over. He is EXHAUSTED 

The teenager collided with the hard ground under them and winced. Their breath was knocked out their lungs and they glared at the older man that knocked their feet from under them. 

“Again” Kuai Liang said sternly and stepped back. The teenager stayed on the ground and crossed their arms over their chest in defiance. 

“So I can get knocked down again? No thanks! And you can't make me!”. Kuai Liang rolled his eyes. He put his hands on his hips and looked down at the teenager, that acted more like a toddler with each passing day. 

“You're right. I can't. Well if you won't do this, then I won't give you any of your privileges back-”

“Wait-!”

“No no” the older man walked towards their house with the teenager quickly jumping to their feet to catch up with him. “You can tell me all about what I can't make you do over dinner”

Exhausted 

He just wants to live life without hearing bullshit in his ears 

Tries to figure out what the problem is but when he finds out they're just being a brat to be a brat, he's at a loss for words 

He assumes that maybe he said or did something and the acting out was a result of that 

He didn't know they're just in an asshole phase 

He has hope that this phase will end soon, so he doesn't react immediately 

Once the week is up he's like “they're still going? Damn. Now I gotta be strict”

In one of the dialogues he said his mom was no nonsense and tough as nails so I can see him trying to embody her spirit and do what she would do 

It probably surprised his kid that he starts actually being strict with them and raising his voice

He's the most chill parent out the 3 so the strictness is a switch up they weren't expecting 

Groundings getting handed out like coupons 

They're losing any privileges they have 

He doesn't enjoy making life miserable for them but he can't NOT parent them 

Hoping the phase ends soon 

“What?!” The teen exclaimed. “You can't ground me!”. 

“Why not?”. The teen had no answer. They just stammered nonsensical sentences that Tomas didn't care to hear. He kept trying to be patient with them, but everyone has a limit, and he had reached his. 

“I keep trying to hear you out but you don't wanna talk-”

“We can talk now!”

“You're right! We can talk after you hand over all your electronics and anything else you've been hiding in your room! Now!”. 

By the end of the day Tomas cleared their room of anything that resembled fun. Needless to say, his kid was far from pleased. It was fine though. They'd look back on this time soon enough and be embarrassed by their actions. 

Bi-Han takes great pride in being a Lin Kuei, so just imagine how much pride he takes when his own child is a genius-

Bi-Han would definitely push his daughter when it comes to certain skills, so I think he'd catch on to her having high intelligence rather quickly

Notices that every challenge he gives her, she passes easily

We saw that there's a whole hologram type of area, plus there's already suits being created so there must be an area for that aswell

His daughter prefers to spend a lot of time there, and I think that's what would clue him in that something's going on in that brain of her's

He has her working with Sektor and observes very closely

"Impressed" isn't a strong enough word to describe how he feels

"Proud" doesn't scratch the surface either

How many people can say they have a genius child? One that can create artificial life? One that's an exceptional strategist? Some of these kids can't even read at their grade level-

No tea no shade, but if she's not his first child, he's making her the heir to the Lin Kuei anyway

Y'all remember how he complimented Sektor? He'd do the same to his daughter

"The improvements you've made to the suits have not gone unnoticed, daughter. Your intelligence is a blessing to all. I am proud to be your father"

Ik Bi-Han is this very tough dude who's hard on people but y'all gonna try and convince me he's not making his approval known?

Especially after the shit he's dealt with when it comes to different views with his dad and brothers, a daughter making his life easier is what he needs fr

I can see him watching her work on whatever it is even if he has no idea what's going on

I think it's easy to be like "oh he'd be jealous of his daughter because he wants to have her intelligence and bring the Lin Kuei up in the world!"

I mean damn, Sektor is smarter than him when it comes to mechanical shit. He didn't seem jealous or angry. He was impressed and applauded her intelligence

There's just no way he's being a salty bitch towards his daughter.

"Your kid doesn't know the difference between their they're and there. My daughter builds android butterflies. We are not the same"

He wouldn't say it like that, but you get my point

All I see is a very proud dad. He has no idea why she's so damn smart but he's not complaining. I see a lot of admiring what she does and letting her put in her two cents when it comes to plans, which is something he does NOT let just anybody do

"I don't have a favorite child!" *only has her pictures on the wall*

Gods forbid he has other kids-

Bi-Han doesn't show it, but he's in so much pain 

It's not because everytime you see him, you try to kill him 

If hating him for the rest of your life meant that you'd be happy, he'd take it 

But you're not happy. It's not a bad breakup and you hate him but at least you're living life. No. You have insane PTSD from the torture you endured 

When he's told that the only way to help you is therapy, he's a tad bit irritated 

Therapy takes too long. He wishes he could fight some enemies, use some magic, then boom. Everything's okay 

Speaking of those enemies though, he's definitely tracking them down and killing them 

He finds it difficult to watch your therapy sessions so he distracts himself with duties 

After a few failed tests, you're finally able to be in the same room as him without trying to kill him 

When he sees you look at him with love instead of hatred, all his tension is released 

Your memories are still a little wonky but you're healed enough to know that they're manipulated 

He's more than happy to tell you what really happened and make new memories with you 

He's more soft afterwards because he's afraid of triggering you 

It takes a lot of work but he's willing to do all of it if it means you'll be okay with him holding you again 

Seeing you be so terrified of him is like a living nightmare 

It's such a difficult situation because there's no easy way to help you 

It's not like a broken bone. You've been made to fear him and your memories are tainted

Therapy is the only thing that can help you 

It takes a while, and he hates it 

He's told to avoid face to face contact with you during your recovery 

So he watches you sneakily 

He watches you rediscover your memories day by day

When you ask to see him, he's a bit nervous, but he knows that that means progress has been made 

He lets you set the pace of the conversation 

Whenever there's silence, he doesn't try to fill it. He knows you need the time to gather your thoughts 

Your hand is shaky when you reach for him. He wants to try and close the space but he doesn't. He lets you take your time reaching for his hand 

When you finally touch it feels like weights have been lifted off his shoulders 

You're not 100% healed but you're making great progress. You being able to stand being around him is such a huge thing to him 

He helps you whenever you get confused and is extremely patient with you 

Definitely believes you'll make a full recovery 

After the first encounter and you trying to kill him, nobody could blame him for becoming depressed 

You were extremely volatile towards him 

Anytime you saw him you immediately tried to attack him 

When he's told therapy is the only thing that can help you, he wants to be hopeful but it's hard to 

Therapy takes time and there's no guarantee it'll even work 

He sends you gifts during your recovery. Sometimes he won't sign it so you're more willing to accept it 

Exposure therapy exhausts him, but he keeps doing it for you 

One day though your demeanor is different 

You don't rush at him or tell him to get out 

You're quiet and still. He lets the silence stay 

“I don't know what's real and what's not anymore”

“You're trying” he'd say. “That's all that matters. And I'll help you”

It gets quiet again 

You walk over to him, and instead of attacking him, you pull him into a tight embrace 

It takes him a moment to understand what's happening. Once he does, he hugs you back 

“You loved me. Real or fake?”

“I love you, and it's all real”

You two just stay like that for a while. He has no idea what's going on in your head, but in his he's ecstatic 

There was hope. As long as there was a hope, even a sliver of it, he wouldn't give up on you 

He stays by your side the entire time. Watching you slowly but surely go out of your way to be around him excites him 

He has tons of pictures and he shows you them and explains what happened whenever you get confused 

Ngl, I see him being offended at first

He’s supposed to be fighting threats but Liu Kang got him on babysitting duty? Is he serious?

He wouldn’t even really care about the magical abilities at first. He’s just mad that he’s being reduced to a babysitter. He already feels like his clan is being doomed to mediocrity, so now he’s really offended

But alas, he’s gotta do what he gotta do

Now imma be honest, I feel like he also takes offense to training a non Lin Kuei

He tells Tomas how he’ll never be a Lin Kuei and he told Kung Lao that he and Raiden couldn’t come with on that one mission because they don’t know their ways

So Bi-Han is very very grumpy rn

As we know, it’s very obvious when he’s grumpy

So I don’t see them interacting much. At least not in the beginning

He trains them in very basic stuff because he refuses to give everyone the Lin Kuei secrets

If this character has little to no control over their powers, give this man a rage break every half an hour

“I’m a babysitter and they don’t know how to control their powers?!”

Them being quiet and respectful is for the best

If they were an asshole, he’s telling Liu Kang to come get this damn kid back

Bi-Han doesn’t have witchy abilities, so training them when it comes to that can be a bit difficult

I can see him trying to teach them about control, ya know? Keeping your cool (no pun intended), breathing, not letting your power control you

“If your power controls you, then you’re weak and can’t help anyone. I’ll try to help you not be weak” “How lovely :D”

Dare I say it gives the “grumpy reluctant father x young kid” trope? A Joel and Ellie, if you will? I’m not naming other examples because damn, there’s a lot

Keeping your head straight is the main component when it comes to control, so that’s where he focuses

I still think he’s annoyed by the situation, but he’s glad they follow instructions and are genuinely trying. His anger is more towards Liu Kang. You just notice he’s grumpy because… look at that man’s face

“I just want you to know that I never wanted to bother you. I didn’t ask to be dropped off here” “Okay” “So… don’t be upset with me… please” “Okay” “Are you mad at me?” “No” “Can you say a full sentence?” “Yes” “You sure?”

Honestly as long as they don’t give him any lip, I think they’ll be fine

He only really seems to get upset when he feels someone isn’t minding their place. Just be a hard worker and follow instructions and this can go smoothly

Definitely gets annoyed if shit starts levitating randomly. Put his coffee down

“I don’t care about this kid”

Proceeds to smirk when they’re able to use their magic successfully

Do I see a strong friendship forming? No. I see a mentor x mentee (?) relationship forming, which is still good

Might offer to let them come back to “refine some of their skills”

Being a cyromancer himself, he expects for his kids to get some sort of ice abilities 

Water is close enough 

He’s not surprised by it. Maybe he’s a bit thrown off when the whole attack happens and he sees that they’ve turned into water, but overall he’s no surprised that his kid has these powers 

He’s mostly pleased

Takes great pride in his kid also having unique abilities. If they were born powerless he wouldn’t hate them, but he’d be like “damn”

Most important part to him is training them so they have control of their abilities

I can see him really pushing to see the extent of their powers. Is it actually just water? Ice? Steam? Can they manipulate water (like a waterbender) or do they always have to become the water?

Becomes borderline toxic but it’s for a good reason

Their powers are close so I can see a training exercise being him throwing icicles at them and they have to turn it to water 

Yall ever seen those people toss babies in a pool to teach them how to swim? That’s him

“Wow dad, the view up here is so pretty. The water looks beautiful. Hey why are we-” “don’t belly flop” “I beg your pardon?”

Listen, he gotta see how much water they can turn into. A pond? A lake? An ocean?

He’s for sure raising a little Ming Hua (LOK character) (a bad bitch)

Kuai Liang wouldn’t expect this because he’s a pyromancer

What he expected was for his kid to be able to manipulate fire. Not water.

I feel like when the attack happens his first thought is if his kid is gonna be okay. When water just starts smacking mfs out of nowhere and he realizes his kid has turned into literal water, he’s a bit shocked 

He’s not disappointed they can’t manipulate fire. He’s just genuinely confused about how these powers work and why at that moment they decided to work instead of any other time before

Honestly I think every brother would take training seriously because having their own powers, they know that you have to have them under control 

They also all have the same occupation so making their reactions different is a lil tricky ngl

I will say tho, I think his training might include putting out fires he creates

They’re not a firefighter but in his mind, it teaches them to think and move fast

Wants to test if they can make only a part of their body water or if it has to be their whole body

I can see him trying to see if he can teach them how to do some of his moves but with water 

Like how he burnt those stone people after scrapping with Shao Khan. Can they do that, but with water. Either by manipulating water or just becoming water and being able to take out that many enemies in one movement 

“They did it before!” yeah but can they do it without being angry? Can they control it? That’s what he’s tryna see

Overall, he's happy for them but I can see him back seating them from any missions until they have the shit under control

I won't repeat that when the attack happens, he's a bit shook. Let's just speed past that 

Now, considering he does the smoke shit, I think he could help a lot more than people think 

He can become a puff of smoke, so he has experience with this whole “I'm no longer in human form” type shit 

I imagine it takes a lot of focus to actually do something like that, so he'd be able to help 

Also I think since he can do all that, he'd help them think outside the box. I imagine when he's a puff of smoke, he can feel that the air has water too. He'd try to see if they can grab at the water in the air as well 

Y'all know how Hama was telling Katara to look for water everywhere? It'd be like that. Just minus the bloodbending 

Training could be fun lowkey. It'd be like tag. A puff of some tryna catch this thing of water 

He has smoke bombs and shit so maybe he'd try to see if they can make weapons that incorporate their whole water thing 

Another training exercise I can think of is him putting smoke down and seeing if they can pick up the water in it? Am I making sense?

I just think he could help a lot more than people expect him too

And obviously he's proud of his kid for getting these powers 

But like his brothers, he knows you gotta get your shit down cause if you don't you become a liability

So like them, he takes training them very seriously

He makes sure to praise them on what they’re doing right and remind them of how much progress they’ve made
