There was just something about the Russell T Davies era of Doctor Who that made it quintessentially British. Not in a pompous, upper-class way but instead, it seemed to perfectly represent the British (specifically English) working-class without glamourising it. It was just raw and real and it represented a group of people that hadn’t necessarily been shown in science-fiction before. We really grew to love these working-class companions and their families. At times it even felt like a space soap opera! All I’m saying is that during this rewatch, I am beginning to realise how lucky we were to be given this era of Doctor Who and I will treasure it forever!
