if you sell face, it's no longer yours. your likeness can be used by anyone with the rights to it, and then, over time, it may be spread and used by others without authorization to use it. this is a crime, of course, to use someones face without permission. but what isn't a crime these days? many have stopped trying to keep up with the sanctions.

what would anyone want with my face? you may ask. its common for citizens to use faces for dating profiles or applying for jobs. often they're looking for faces similar to their own, to try to appear younger or more attractive, more symmetrical.

there's some conjecture that young rebels (and aspiring rebels) are often drawn to selling face and thus BL's intent is to keep tabs on those individuals. young rebels are often by liquid credits, which they stockpile to get beyond the border. secondly, while it's a risk having your face out there, some suggest that multiple citizens using your likeness is a disguise of multiplicity. the more your face is used, the more the data associated with your face may confuse or mislead algorithms. you yourself become harder to track. the most popular faces become meaningless ghosts, spread across the far reaches of the net.
