#subject 17

Gotta do a special one for number 17. Contemplated it for a bit and I think this one hits the spot.

Three Days

Summary on Ao3 is:

“The men working at Abstergo are very scientific minded. Ghosts and curses and magic were things of the past (even if the Pieces of Eden came close they were still based in science). But still, after Subject 17 dies in captivity and his corpse was used to unlock the memories of his ancestors, strange things began happening that no one could explain.

Like, how come the only memories they could interact with were the last three days leading up to Subject 17 (Miles, Desmond)'s death?”

So tw this one is kinda dark.

It’s short, sweet, and to the point. Subject 17 is gonna haunt the shit out of those Abstergo asshats for letting him die. And those bitches deserve it all.

It really lets your imagination run wild with what-ifs. It’s just open ended enough that you are left with ideas and questions without being so open ended you feel disappointed by the ending.

A little spooky but not terribly over the top with the horror aspects so really it’s a safe read.

Nov 6, 2072.

Subject was previously BioTechnica personnel. Subject is responsible for Incident 622-b [incident report attached]. Employment with BioTechnica was terminated on Aug 28, 2072 for failure of essential duties.

Subject sustained major injuries to the left side of the body as a direct result of Incident 622-b. Amputations were necessary below the left elbow and left hip. Due to damage to vital internal organs, subject is not expected to survive without extensive treatment. Subject has been referred to the DNAC/R Lab for examination.

Abestrgo Industries was well known as a pharmacual company to the public, however those embroiled in the ancient shadow war knew better. It was the modern face of the Templars. Experimentation, kidnapping, brainwashing, illegal surgeries, etc was their rap sheet. To make matters worse they currently had four great wins under their belts.

First off, Daniel Cross. Their modern day Shay Cormac. Sure the man was fifteen layers of fucked up but that didn't matter. He was like that locked up prized pitbull, the one that won his fights. Six foot tall, and roughly two hundred pounds. He was efficient and effective.

Secondly, the great assassin purge. Vedic knew they didn't get them all but most of the modern assassins fell. It was a bit of a headache to learn that the old school assassins along with their templar counterparts were back but that didn't matter. The modern assassins were weak.

Third, Lucy Stillman has been way too easy to flip. Probably helped that William Miles had abandoned her to his mercy years ago for some minor offense. She had expressed a differing opinion to William and he hated it. But she had been too useful to kill. Vedic even knew that.

Lastly, Clay Kazmarek Subject 16. Though it was a surprise that despite the overexposure to the Animus, he was hanging on but barely. He had hope. Something was fishy about it and Vedic wanted to know why.

Then Daniel Cross brought home the greatest prize. Mentor Miles' son Desmond. He did not pay attention to the fact that the now Twenty five year old wore the Templar Cross in the open. While Desmond was under from the drug Daniel had slipped him, a full medical work up had been done.
