She follows them because it's her job as a publicist to keep track of how the public is perceiving them as a couple. And that includes fans or super fans. She has to monitor how things unfold, and following a stan account is an easy way to do it.

I checked Olivia-only fan accounts, but she doesn't follow any of them. Which makes sense, because her job is managing the stunt, aka Holivia.

I think they don't care that the fandom knows about it because they're very well aware that a large portion of it thinks it's a stunt so there's no changing that, so they might as well publicly do their job. Right in front of our salads. No shame.

It's so transparent that Holivia is a fake publicity stunt relationship. Literally everything about it is so manufactured and managed. It's absurd how obvious it is. Yet they continue to drag it along because it's garnered a lot of publicity.

The fact that Olivia's publicist follows Holivia fan accounts just shows us that they don't even care that the fandom knows it's fake. They get tons of publicity either way so at the end of the day it doesn't matter. So Maria Herrera just continues to do her job.

Hours after switching to styles.updating and the follower number dropped, they also only follow 17 accounts now (I can’t say which they unfollowed but I guess it was all a bunch of Holivia shippers)

Now - follower numbers raised again, I assume many are just there to lurk
