In reference to my last post where I was complaining about being up 2 pounds in 3 weeks....
First of all, thank you all for your responses. But I'm still skeptical.
I have a very hard time believing it's all new muscle weight. I'm sure I've built some muscle. But I'm trying to sensibly lose 2ish pounds a week. I'm eating between 1300-1500 calories and going to CrossFit 4 times a week. My sister and brother in law are doing the same thing and they're droppin' weight like it's hot. And there's no way I could've gained what, like 6-8 pounds of muscle in 3 weeks? From what I've read, it's usually like .25-.5 pounds of muscle a week.
Sure, my clothes are getting baggy (and oh my god, I fit into a size L at Victoria Secret yesterday!). I'll do Month #2 measurements next Thursday and I'll post comparison photos too.
But this shit just blows my damn mind because I have SO much weight to lose (another 35 pounds would finally get me out of the "overweight" BMI category...and I know, BMI isn't the be all-end all). If I was just trying to tone up and get in shape, then yes, this would make sense to me to be gaining muscle. But I have so much fat on my body, so to see the scale move in the opposite direction infuriates me, because I am doing everything right.
I know I need to not let it get to me and just trust the process and keep doing what I'm doing. But I'm still pissy about it.
