Debut: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Poor Stumper. It looks stumped! There’s something it just can’t figure out... it’s trying its best, that’s for sure, and it really doesn’t want to inconvenience anyone. But it just can’t put its root on it!
Maybe it thinks it’s in the wrong game! I don’t think so, though. This may be a cubey stump, but it’s got some rounded edges and stuff, like it’s child-proofed. I think a child could be trusted to play with Stumper. The spike on the side is a little concerning, but even then, it’s pretty dull-looking, if you ask me. It would at least do less damage than unsupervised YouTube use, am I right?
Stumper may be a stump, but it can move side to side regardless by walking on its roots, Whispy Woods in Dream Land 3-style! The spikes may be relatively unimpressive, but Toads are just so squishy that they’re dangerous to them anyway. Stumper, however, is immune to all attacks. I wouldn’t want to attack it, though! Again, look at its face. It’s like a nervous scruffy dog or something.
Speaking of its face, it looks like a new variety of the Eyes-In-A-Void look! Here, the void is doing the emoting, and the eyes themselves are conjoined like a Club Penguin character! Stumper has a very good face. So good that I can look past the fact that there is a tongue in that mouth, and that mouth is clearly meat on the inside.
