π intro post π
not new to the community, but coming back from a rather long hiatus so here's a lil introduction ^^
i'm 26, currently pursuing a master's degree in data science (kinda?). i was diagnosed with adhd late last year and have been on a journey of self-discovery ever since trying to manage my symptoms and improve my quality of life, and that also includes my studies!
i'm currently in the process of writing my master's thesis, which i had to push back to the fall instead of this summer bc of my adhd </3 im still trying to find my rhythm atm and get better at coding in python. im hoping that by rejoining the studyblr community i'll be able to get back on track to still graduate this year!!
other than my master's degree, i am also a big language learning enthusiast. i'm bilingual - i speak romanian (native) and english (c1). i've dabbled in many languages, but i'm most comfortable with japanese (~N4). right now i am taking a break from japanese and will be focusing on studying korean. my goal for kr is to reach lower intermediate, so around a2/b1 (topik levels still confuse me sorry) by the end of this year.
finally im an intl student studying in the netherlands and i'm slowly working my way to gaining confidence in speaking dutch and improving my skills, so if youre a dutch speaker willing to help out learners hmu :')
also im ofc looking for friends and i'd love to chat about anything really. my dms/asks are always open so feel free to reach out :)
to do list 17th of july
day 20 π today's to do list is gonna be a very quick one because i'm meeting my friends early in the afternoon for a hangout/sleepover but there's still a couple of things i want to get done before we meet up :)
update: i was so close to getting everything done but i woke up too late to be able to work on my assignment before i left <//3 but a productive and fun day overall!! had a lot of fun my friends, i miss them so much no matter how often we meet up π₯Ή
also ended up taking my e-reader with me on the train instead of my copy of βcarmillaβ and i got soooo close to finishing βdays at the morisaki bookshopβ before my train journey was over, i was like 5 pages short i was sooo annoyed π
Thesis (python course):
β daily practice questions
to do list 19th of july
day 22 π another long day at work today π gonna try to get some things done in my breaks/once i get home. todayβs also going to be a Very hot day and i have conveniently forgotten my handheld fan at home so there is a chance i am just going to melt away
update: my friend had an emergency last night after i got home from work so i abandoned the to do list. i wasnβt able to finish lesson 3 from my korean textbook, but i did about half of it during my break at work! βΊοΈ
i ended up packing my e-reader for work instead of my book because i couldnβt find it before i left in the morning, so i started a new book lol. the book is βabigailβ by magda szabo and it is so engaging i ended up reading about 27 pages! i wish i wouldβve had time to read even more, but thereβs always tomorrow!!!
Thesis (python course):
β daily practice questions
july goals
decided to try something new that my therapist recommended! i've set a couple of goals/tasks i want to get done for the month of july to (attempt to) keep myself on track (what even is the track who knows atp)
get a haircut
read 4 books
finish 1A sejong course before start of 3rd term (july 21st)
write 2 short entry diaries in dutch
set up a proper budgeting/finance overview system
spend at least 2h/day working on my thesis
i haven't decided if i will be checking in weekly, or only mid + end of month yet but there will be an update at some point
βοΈ also for anyone studying korean that might be interested in free online korean courses the king sejong institute registration for the 3rd term is open until the 13th of july :)

happy tuesday π ateez made it onto the billboard top 100 chart so to celebrate i will try my best to have a productive day πͺπ»
haven't been having the best days brain/mood/general mental health wise lately, but things still have to get done so here's to doing our best, whatever that looks like today π
update: today went better than expected for sure. tho i am not done with reading + taking notes on the research paper, i made some progress on it so i'll count it as done, even tho it's not completed yet. i also didn't get the chance to code recommendation diversity today, so i will move it to tomorrow's to do's alongside today's extra tasks. all in all, i'm quite happy with my progress on the first day of trying to get back on track βΊοΈ
Thesis:
β progress meeting with my thesis supervisor (already done)
β code the formula for intralist diversity
β generate top-25/50/100 recommendations
β re-read paper on the impact of pop bias on fairness & calibration + take notes this time
to do list 16th of july
day 19 π another long day at work today, but the grind never stops. managed to wake up early today and even went grocery shopping before leaving for work which is amazing.
update: turns out having an early start and working an 8h shift is quite tiring if you're not used to it. who would've thought (clearly not me). didn't manage to make it to the library after work before because i was too tired but instead i:
β did a quick workout when i got home
β had a catch up call with my mom
Thesis (python course):
β daily practice questions
to do list 10th of july
day 16 π woke up at 8.30 today before my alarm so the day's already looking promising !! got another couple of days full of work shifts + errands so i want to get as much done today as possible so i can move on the next python course on saturday. the course i'm doing right now has 5 modules. in theory it should be possible to finish all 2 and a bit modules i have left today if i can pull 4-6h of studying. buuuut i don't want to stress myself out too much since i'm not sure how long it'll actually take to finish the assignments for module 4. my main task for the day is to leave my house for once lol and study at the library for at least 2h
Thesis (python course):
β daily practice questions
β finish section 3 module 3 + notes
β practice notebook 2
β assignment 2
β section 1 module 4 + notes
β practice notebook 1
β assignment 1
β section 2 module 4 + notes
