having an almost stupendously busy semester but its good to be back <3
ive been trying to find some sort of balance between working on my course projects +++ walking around and hanging out with friends and so far it is (as studies say..) doing wonders for my mental health

doing a wakatime check at the end of the week is giving me whiplash because i know i didnt open vsc much for the past few days of the week but i really went crazy today just switching between assembly > java and then the class project for the semester
anyway im actually making this post in between breaks because i still have to re-integrate the authentication process for my part in the main class project !
so, for this semester, we have a class project of building a website for our institution's room reservation system. i will 100% document my journey on this here since we are formally starting the sprint #1 this week. special tag will probably be #undeuxhuit because im lazy (its literally the course code) and im trying to put the french duolingo streak in use. tech stack is quite fun with nextjs (god sent)

had four meetings today, which were 3 actual meetings and 1 lecture recap of the past three weeks. was able to do a portion of the palindrome exercise I have to do for c programming.

same programming language but an entirely different project. this time its the mini project i actually have to do which in all technicality is to write a java clone of agar io....
(and to think last school year they only had to make a shooting game and now we're out here incorporating ai bc we have to randomize the enemy blobs too....)
most of my progress as im writing this post is about the ui, but im halfway into having content that works in the game !! small victories i guess. also who knew listening to raffaella carra would make me feel in a great mood while googling my way through finishing this project
(my note to future cs degree wanters: the material in your class is never enough for the laboratory exercises! searching is okay! asking stackoverflow is okay! you cannot know things that you're simply not aware of so just research your way through mastery!)

so far, day 1 of only focusing on java to finish all my whopping FIVE code backlogs (including the mini game project i have to pass on WEDNESDAY!!), is working well so far and I might be 2/5 down now!
this line of code was NOT pleasing to do at all, as i still feel alienated by java?? like i truly have no idea if what i'm doing makes sense ... also if u see any mistake...tell me right now before i pass this code honestly. (im mostly focused on the fact it no longer returns me a null pointer!)
the goal for this code was to encapsulate properly but the funny part is ive already gotten all the modifiers taken care of and only need to see which parts need the getters and setters for + filling in the codes that i need to use.
anyhow, there will be more of this for the next few days for me, considering i have polymorphism and gui left to do all while trying to see what i can work on in my game!!

i couldnt quite update yesterday because i spent the day reviewing double integrals in order to understand how to answer my triple integrals problem set (the irony!). i have a bit of a difficulty in the setting up the bounds of the integrals so ive been putting professor leonard on youtube just on constant repeat. it helps--his way of teaching really works on me....rather far better than what my professor discusses because it was never emphasized in class how important it would be to know how to get the bounds!
i watched maja ma (2022) to make myself feel a bit better by seeing madhuri dixit and simone singh eye-act their way through tension of being past lovers with feelings for each other still! i scream about it on my letterboxd review!
anyway, today on the 15th, i finished 2/4 of my examinations! im hoping i can finish this java project on time....otherwise... hell. my professor who wasn't present today to give us the exam left some chocolates for us to have after finishing taking the analysis of algorithm exams <3 i will actually remember him forever. ALSO. i just figured out how to use my tablet as AN EXTENDED DISPLAY...

spent the afternoon reviewing for my logic design class at the cafe and ending the day with some java programming for both my project and backlogs ! i hope this week goes well because i have 4 exams coming up.
