Friday night...
...will be spent trying to plow through t cell differentiation. We had an activity today (called “Quality Olympics”) with the nursing students. For a team work activity, we had to build a contraption to prevent an egg from breaking when we dropped it from the top of a ladder. It was actually pretty fun. The other med students in my group said how great of a study break this was. I’m not kidding when I say that the nursing students kind of stared oddly at us and asked if we were serious, if this was really “our break.” It was funny to watch their disbelieved faces as we explained that with a test block ending in 2 weeks, we have to study ALL weekend, about 8-10 hours a day. I still don’t think they believe us.
I’ve gotten used to constant work, something that felt so impossible during the first few weeks of school. It’s refreshing, and a needed reality check, when “other people” remind me that this is indeed unusual, and impressive, and give me sympathetic stares as I head back to the study rooms at 4 on a Friday.
