Ok! I couldn’t figure out what to do with this painting for over a year now… I had it painted with this woman on the left, and had it at a “finished” state, but when I hung it on my wall I never loved the narrative created. So I put a whole mess of white paint on a brush and painted her out. I lived with just a giant white patch on the canvas where she used to be. The painting hung on this wall in the entrance of my studio, as most of my unfinished work does so that when I walk in, I have to look at it and think about it as I pass by. A week or so ago when I was walking by, I solved it! The narrative isn’t the relationship between a group of men and a woman walking by: it needs to be another man. Ha! Love when things finally click. @Mklajade look what I just found! This past weekend, I decided to go through my flat files and I ended up finding a whole bunch of work that I completely forgot about! This pieces is a study I did when I was observing/painting relationships of couples a few years ago. When people love each other, they always seem to come together in a heart shape . So I painted a few pieces of couples (two of these giant paintings are in the post next to this one).
