A big part of my junior year of high school was the introduction of hair products that catered to the teenage Generation X cohort and our gravity defying needs (new wave hair was giving way to tall, layered spiral perms but both needed sturdy height.) Studio Line was the coolest - white background, Mondrian logo that suggested both the '60s (as the '70s leaned heavily on the '50s, the '80s leaned heavily on the '60s) and total modernity.
I have occasionally wondered if that line survived, and yesterday in the store, glanced up high enough and saw this. The packaging is black now, but the Mondrian logo, though smaller, is still there.
Everything has changed so much for the worse since I was young that this is deeply comforting.
